Diagonal Movement : Should be possible because its too simple!
I don't get why you can't command a sprite to move diagonally because all you would have to do is have the sprite use the pictures in a pattern by moving to the next picture adjacent to the one just bellow it. Think about it this way, draw a diagonal line across a character sheet from the top left to the bottom right, than you know it should be simple to do that.

There is a script for it, but you shouldn't need one, there should be a special command for it somewhere.
But why would should you need an 8 character sheet when what i said was just true? Have the sprite change to the picture down a diagonal line instead of a horizontal or vertical one!
Now that i brought this up, is it possible to have a sprite move to a different character sheet back and forth?
EDIT : Oops, i forgot that you would need a sprite that faces diagonally or else switch between two sprites. There should be a way to make a sprite move while using two character sheets without programming knowledge. I just so happened to make a character sheet where that example would be completely true (can't tell you what it is).
