Did the very first thing you started making turn into a game?

I started using RPG maker back on PSX in 2000. I made lots of small little joke games my friends and I would share memory cards with to play. I did end up making one "real" game that was about 5 hours long, but never ended up finishing it.

Yeah my first project did turn into a game, but... It was reallyyyy bad XD
It was back in 2004 - 2005 and I still remember the plot:
A girl from farming/mountain village whose destiny was to slay the four fiends as they broke out of their seals.
For some reason I made her into a martial artist instead of the traditional fighter.
It had ****ty writing, bugs and was a complete mess. But it did teach me that I love the game making progress.

I also started with the PSX RM, and I actually did finish a game, short though it was, that I was fairly proud of.

Well my first scratch project has 'sort of' turned into a 'game' (definitely note the brackets ).
It has a beginning, a middle and 7 ends. Just so I could test adding scripts to deal with multiple endings...

I quite like how you can get a bit creative with the 'picture,' 'fog,' and 'bitmap' elements.

I've noticed people seem to have some issues doing things in later versions of RPG maker that you can bodge together relatively easily with a combination of these elements and some code in XP. It's a lot more open than I expected it to be! I'm quite impressed with it as a maker program.

Are the newer versions more open or more closed?

Yes it did, and was released as a commercial game. It was called Undefeated. It's main claim to fame (apart from the fact that it's sold quite well) is that Degica asked to use it to test porting RM to mobile. The enormous difficulties of doing that with a game made in VX Ace was (I think, but cannot prove) one of the main reasons why RM switched from Ruby to JavaScript.

My first "game" was lost to corruption in the project file before I knew of a way to recover it. But what I made directly after that did become a finished game that I published.

The very first? No, nor was it intended to. The very first thing I did was a test to see if I could even make head or tails of how to use RMMV — which, as it turns out, I could. (The Linux version of RMMV apparently won’t run the tutorial, so that wasn’t helpful.)

The first actual project, though? Yes. …Kinda. It’s a very short game, but it does technically count. It was mostly just a means to teach myself the basics of RMMV in the absence of a functional tutorial, but it worked as such and has just enough of a plot that I was even willing to put it in the Completed Games forum (after minimal prodding from Shaz).

The first real project? It’s still a work in progress, but the fact that I went back to it after a seven month hiatus (mostly caused by burnout from trying to go overboard with the One Map Challenge) is probably a good sign.

tl;dr: No, yes-ish, and we’ll see…

Both Mike and Ray here are in a "HYPE!" state after Mike uses "Wild Party", which also heals everyone. they'll do more damage and counter more often, but defense is lower along with hit rate.

Ooker spookers and fun attack mechanics! What a Friday!
Not today... Not today...
I guess I should send my CV to Hasbro. I've made Monopoly cheaters edition more fun and challenging. I've developed custom cheats and chest/chance cards for it. And I've cleared many nightmares through my cards and rules.
I'm only missing 2 more bgms for my game but maaaaan, searching for these tracks is killing me. Can't find anything good to replace MZ's Theme 2 and Scene 5 I have as placeholders. Everything is too epic or too evil or too alarming. That 'scene 5' track in particular would fit nicely with my scene. Well, at least I finally figured what my last click-fest of a gameplay element will be like, so something positive :D
