Different Activation Problem

I apologize if this issue has been posted about before, or has a well known or established solution, but I could not locate it myself. I just downloaded and installed RPG Maker VX Ace Lite, but I cannot activate it, as I receive an error message:


'The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.'


I'm using a Windows 10 laptop, and have deactivated firewall and antivirus while trying this, all to no avail. I have seen suggestions to use a proxy, however I'm not entirely sure what that means or how to do it. I would appreciate assistance in this matter, which seems to have caused a simple and quick process into a seemingly impossible problem.

where did you download Ace Lite?


Currently it can't be downloaded from this site at all because of the problems with the activation server, the only way to currently get Ace Lite is with the Steam Version as Steam has its own servers.
