I'd like a script or somethin' that allows you to add a script call to a troop that instantly changes it's BGM. And if that's not possible,

Why not make it so you can choose the troop number in the script and type in the BGM you want next to it.

Like this:

01: battle1.mp3

02: battle2.mp3

03: battle1.mp3

This type of thing was in ma head, so if that's possible, thanks.

I do something similar to that with events. Though my eneimes in one of my projects are walking on the map so I don't have any random encounters. I think you may be able to do that using the troop event section. Let me go check and see.

In the troops event tab, why not just set it to: on turn 0, play bgm: *desired bgm*

No script required?

If I do that, the normal battle BGM changes to the new one after it says *monster* appears/emerged/etc.

If they are purely evented battles (hence my question at the beginning of this thread) then you can change the BGM immediately before the Battle Processing command.

I haven't tried this, so I don't know if it would crash, but if you don't set any track as a default battle theme, would that work?  It means that it would not kick in before the theme chosen via the troop tab.

RMMV
Once in a battle, Change Battle BGM will not change the BGM of THAT battle, but of future ones.

You haven't answered ksjp's question - are you using evented battles or random battles? And is this just something special you want to do for bosses, which would be evented? Then set the default battle BGM when you enter the map (for the random encounters). And when you reach the boss, use the Change Battle BGM command BEFORE the Battle Processing command to change to the special boss BGM, and after the Battle Processing command change it back again.

If that doesn't suit, check out the script that you were also given in the second response, which you also have not commented on or replied to. People can only help you if you give them feedback ;)

You could always have no BGM for battles and do it pure eventing. Although it does leave the absense of sound before the enemies appear / you hit go

I'd say both. Bosses have their own BGM and the encounters have a different BGM depending on what enemy is in them.

That doesn't actually answer the question.  Are you saying that the bosses are evented battles and that all others are random?  Or are some/all of the others evented?
