Digimon World 3 is my very favorite game for PlayStation, followed by Digimon World 1, I have played every digimon game that I could, World 1,2,3, 4, Re;Digitize, Card Battle, Dusk, Rumble Arena 1 and 2, Digimon Masters, Digimon Heroes and other flash games (not have psp but already watched Digimon Cyber Sleuth as walkthrough on YouTube).


Maybe digimon is not my very favorite anime serie but is certainly one of the animes that introduced me to this world of japanese animation and love for digital and technology stuff.


I have watched all the digimon series (yep, even hunters), OVA´s and movies. I have mixed opinions about them but I wanted to know deeper the digimon universe. I have read the digimon reddit (https://dd.reddit.com/r/digimon/) and I realized that I have a lot to learn and products of this franchise to enjoy (haven´t read any manga yet).


Maybe this text is not that important, but I really enjoyed Digimon Tamers (season 3) and I always wanted to play a digimon card game as was shown in the TV serie. That´s why I added this function to the game.


I have also added Digimentals (Digieggs in some dubs) used in Digimon 02 to digivolve their digimon to armor-level.


I asked for some ideas in reddit and they would love to use digispirits as some characters in Digimon Frontier (season 4) did. I have already the code, skills and balance to do this...actually is already working!


With nothing more to say about why I create a game like this, I appreciate your time to read my post.

Digital World History

Digimons have found a new universe, something called "Real World", a place habited by humans, creatures that live in societies more complex than them. They found that even if humans "don´t evolve" nor create fire, ice or increase their size by using abilities, humans are very smart because they can and use tools, technology, software or the environment by itself to make easier their jobs.


The digital world in Digimon Sigma is not primitive. Digimons have found a way to imitate some human behaviours as don´t kill other creatures to survive, but is still necessary to increase their data size to achieve digievolutions. This caused that digimons in digital world are divided in two sections, the ones than only want to live in peace in small communities and enjoy as they their own lives and, the other section is totally the opposite, they think that digimons are not creatures that can create communities and live in peace forever, they think that digimons are made always found the way to increase their data size in order to become stronger and create their own way to live, creating clans or live where they want and more important, as they want.


Digimons by their nature, have a lot of respect/fear for digimons stronger than them, they have become stronger by achieving some conditions or by age. The stronger digmons are the elder ones, the digimons that have been always there, the digimons that nobody know how much they have been living, the digimons that decide how digimons have to act or how they have to interact in digital world with other digimons. Of course, some digimons don´t agree with them, but they know that the digital world still exist because of this elder digimons.


Some time ago, this Elder digimons found that humans can be really dangerous for digimons and digital world, hackers and other people can manipulate data with some limits, they can create weapons to hurt other people and some "weak digimons". They found that the connection between digimons and humans are closer than ever because the amount of technology in real world, that´s why they realized that some of the acts versus digimons are do it by accident. Later, they agree that only a really little percentage of humans want to harm other creatures, so the Leaders of digital world met a very selected group of humans (a kind of humans ambassadors) to declare a treat in which humans and digimons have to live in peace and even so, share knowledge of  ways to achieve peace.

The Real World in Digimon Sigma is contemporary, is basically the present in an alter universe, in which humans have found a signal of life in the deepest part of the net. There they discover a place where everything is made and ruled by data. Some experts say that the evolutive and cognitive algorithms that went dumped became these creatures in order to survive, but this theory haven´t proved yet.


The first time (officially reported) that humans contact with this world they thought that was a empty place living by itself creating and destroy part of itself for some reasons. Later they found that this data that was being destroyed and created in an not polynomial behavior they just became more curious. Was then, when they accidentally found that was an accessible place for things that are not data. After more studies, humans found "living creatures" in this new place. Of course all this new discovers were not public at that time. Even if there were some rumors about it, nothing was officially revealed until sometime further.


One day, a new organization called "IDR" appeared and made a worldwide announcement about have found a smart specie not human, but not outside in the space as we thought that would be. This specie is called digimon and they are a digital creature, a lot of governs in all the world put a lot of money to study this strange place, where the food can be cloned, the oceans created and all kind of live be manipulated with the right script of course. IDR said that was already signed a kind of treat with digimons, they explain the digital structure of digimons and how this are sometimes affected by humans by accident, but they explained too how powerful and harmful can be for humans if they get into this world, even if that´s impossible, the idea of this was a worldwide; videogames, series and a lot of merchandise of this new creatures was in all the stores in all the world, without mention all the new discovers that this place allow us to "simulate".


Time has passed since that day, and IDR has development the ultimate machine to allow study and interact with digimons, a portal to visit this world.

Digimon Sigma is an RPG game in which you can explore the digital world as an open world with the help of your partner(s) digimon; you can go and follow the main quests through the digital and real worlds in the chapters while playing the game.


Complete secondary quests in order to unlock some powerful evolutions or items that will help you to do your will.











Items as DigiSpirits are waiting for you to change the digital world forever, it´s your decision as the player to become the hero and save villages or become the new digimon Kaiser and add fear of humans in the digital world...but beware! Because some digimons won´t like that and they will add a prize for your head.


Your decisions affect the digital world! you can see the cities changing or the behavior to you or other humans by completing some quest.

This game is going to allow set the digimon names in Dub version or Sub version in English or Spanish. You are going to see some screenshots with text in Spanish and others in English

In Digimon Sigma you can have select 2 partners at most, it´s possible to extend the party size to 3 in the game, but this third place in the party is reserved for digimons that follow you in order to help them in their mission. Digimons have stats for battle, these stats are:

• Health, The total damage of points that the digimon can receive before faint (and game over in some battles)
  
• Mana points, The points that the digimon can spend to use abilities, powerful attacks that every digimon have, some are uniques, some aren´t.
  
• Attack, The damage that a digimon can make by doing physical attacks and some physical abilities, almost every ability depends of this stat.
  
• Defense, The damaged that is going to be reducted from the foe abilities or normal attacks, the damaged is reduced by formula, not directly.
  
• Magical Attack, The points that are going to be added to abilities that are not physical (fireball, energy shouts, etc).
  
• Magical Defense, The damaged reduced from foe no physical abilities, the damaged is reduced by formula, not directly.  
  
• Agility, The stat that determines which user attack first.
  
• Luck, How much damage the character is going to receive by being burn or poisoned.
  

There exist some other stats like Evade, Critical Hit, Reflect Damage, etc. But they are "hidden" stats and the user has no direct access to them.


In battle, the user can use a normal attack, abilities, (de)evolution, or use an item.

• Normal attacks don´t cost any Mana points but they are not as strong as an ability.
  
• Abilities are powerful skills that digimons use in battle to inflict a lot of damage to the enemy (or produce some states are stuns, freeze or burn). These skills cost mana points.
  
• Evolution skills cost the resource that every digimon has, Digital Soul, the resource that is used by the digimon in order to increase their database and achieve a new form. Evolution cost is given by the evolution level (champion evolution is cheaper than mega). By doing this, the digimon is going to regenerate all the HP and Mana points, but all the  DS is reduced to 0.  De-evolution has no cost.
  
• Items, as the name says, the user can use combat items to help their partners in the battle, this include Digimodify Cards (Card Slash in sub version), DigiMentals or disks in order to heal or increase their stats.
  

All digimons that can evolve have a resource bar of Digital Soul, without considering the level, all digimons have a limit of this resource of 100 points.


**Abilities have different type of elements, this add balance to the game more than just afflict/receive damage. Digimons have unique weakness by elements by the nature of the digimon, not the digimon by itself.


Note The Digimon Types (Data > Vaccine > Virus > Data) it exist, but it gives hidden stats, not a clear advantages versus other digimons, it limits the use of some digicards

Here we can see how the player uses the Digicard LadyDevimon, a rare card that teach to your digimon for some turns the powerfull skill "Darkness Wave"





Oh, by the way, I used digital versions of the cards that I found on internet, so the image of each card a real design.





At the moment this is currently working, and it´s taking the information from the database, so it´s working in Spanish too:

Oh, we had an X-Vmon right? well, We use a card on Taomon while doing a Spirit evolving on him.

The image, the stats, elements and skills change, the name doesn´t  because I wanted to the user to remember what digimon he had before remove the digispirit, this may change in a future.





Some abilities have a unique animation that have to adapt by the resources given by the engine of RPG Maker VX Ace, other had to be created, but still is a lot of work so, some of them are repeated (actually a lot of digimon have a "fire" breath, right?)

Currently I have almost every digimon starter of each season (no Xros wars, no Hunters, no Lilamon of savers yet) working, this include the battle balance and the evolution working until mega level. Additionally, I added other digimons that are playable since the beginning.


Working

• At the moment I have 100 playable digimons + Digimentals + DigiSpirits, working.
  
• Each playable digimon has 3-4 skills, this is given by the level: ultra and mega level have 4 unique skills, some skills are repeated because the official perfil of the digimon has not too much info to create a new one, a lot of skills has their own animation.
  
• DNA evolution is working at the moment.
  

On progress

• Side/Dark evolutions are not added yet.
  
• Creating some maps in the real world
  
• Burst/Change Mode is going to be added and is currently balanced
  

Maybe

• Not sure if add X evolutions, but this implict a lot of story development by Royal Knights and the disspear of the Angels.
  
• There is no baby playable digimons, because they are too weak to balance. Could be added but I think that would not be fun, but I could be wrong.
  
• DigiXross is not going to be added into the game because it breaks the balance of evolutions.
  
• Graphics, Sprites may change and some colors with be fixed (Koromon sprite has dead pixels).
  

I would like to explain more about the structure of the digital world once I advance more in the develop of the game.

This project contains mass content from the official Digimon media, such as sprites and characters.
All of these contents are properties of Namco Bandai.
