Hey there! :kaojoy:
I'm currently thinking of ideas for a plugin that would be of use to many people.
So, I'm making this post for people to dump their ideas.

Rules:
  • Post any idea you have, and upvote other people's ideas if you think they're good :D
  • Avoid posting ideas for plugins that already exist - no point remaking what's already in use
  • No "compatibility" or "extension" plugins - the plugin should be a standalone

yesterday there is a co-member of our forum who is looking for a plugin actually a skill plugin that has a slider of some sort where you can use this slider to increase/decrease the amount of mp you can use and while increasing its mp consumption it increases the power (damaging) without making lots of skills of the same kind. I am not sure if there is already a plugin like this, also like categorized skills sample when you open the skill menu everything is there and when you choose the wind spell it opens up a new page only for the wind spell that i think is like SRD SKILL Extender but without again making lots of skill of the same kind with just different damage formulas.

EDIT: about my own idea is a plugin for party/leader skill system that activates at the start of a battle either A buff, those special flag in the parameters menu like gold+ etc, gradual healing (regen), attack+, aoe skill that fires one time per battle i am doing this right now via troop battle but i have to like make all of it either in troop events or common event its fine by me but would be better if a plugin exist.

Today, I came up with a plugin that would let you create the Smash Bros meme 'A new foe has appeared' just before starting the battle. It would be awesome if you could make it happen.

I've seen several people request a plugin for "keyboard/gamepad button to bring up item/skill menus in the battle scene" like Persona/Super Mario RPG and as far as I know one doesn't exist.

A plugin that would show what stats increased on level up, like in the MOTHER series.

Not that OP will outright refuse this, but they did say not to put forth ideas that already exist, and both MV and MZ have these plugins.

Really? Where can I find one for MZ? And Victory aftermath isn't really what I'm looking for lol, just the stats up being displayed in text on level up. Thanks!

How about a plugin for MZ that lets you control bonuses like Gold Drop Rate & Item Drop Rate?
The built-in Party Abilities aren't very flexible & only double the rates, not set them to percentage rates like you can with EXP Rate.

Also, how about a plugin that adjusts the name of the map for floor naming conventions? In order to get the most out of my maps, if I wanted to make a dungeon that has both Basements & Upper Floors on the same big map, the typical naming convention is to label the floors as B1, B2, B3 & 1F, 2F, 3F, etc. and have the map name change each time you go up or down a floor.

I believe either by default or by one of Yanfly's/VisuStella's plugins, you can include variables in a map's name, but it wouldn't be able to properly use the naming convention of B# for basements or #F for floors. Perhaps a simple plugin could help with that.

Great ideas so far! :D And thanks everyone for letting others know some plugins already exist, it's super helpful for all :kaojoy:
I'll lurk a bit more seeing what other suggestions people come up with, and will go based on what receives the most likes/seems the most interesting, once we've got a couple more suggestions! :LZSyum:

the one @AquaEcho suggested is a nice one as I look something like that
for my hud, so if it is customisable (horizontal/vertical) at rotation 0, or
a struct to get rotation + x/y position, than you can make alot of unique
commands based on it.

specially if you can target common event with an evented dmg based skill!

but I like a custom hud that can be used for both SideView as FrontView hud.
I do know battle related stuff aren't easy, so good luck on which idea's you take
and how they come out :)

You could make the entire variable be "B1" or "3F" and there's no static text in the message you're showing. (you can use the Script command in Control Variable to store text strings)

I think the other part is why it's necessary to have all the floors on one map, and whether the plugin would be useful to more than one person :wink:

I just ran a test in MZ with the plugin. Gold increases worked, but item drop increases didn't. Perhaps with FOSSIL it would work flawlessly.

Thanks for testing. I actually can and have written my own plugins but don't have a copy of MZ so wouldn't be able to test for it.

I am working on a pathfinding plugin as all the ones I've tried have issues and I keep seeing people ask for some pathfinding features. I made a patch for Shaz's pathfinder today but will spin it off into its own plugin as it doesn't need Shaz's plugin to work.

If anyone has any requests for pathfinding I'll see what I can do.

This is the second phase of the Manor Experiment boss enemy that I shared before. In this phase, it is possessed by Cerebellum, one of the four eldritch horror villains of the game.
And with that all the in game menu busts are replaced fo the party

I don't remember if a plugin like this already existed, but just in case, I'll do it anyway.

Add a professional touch to your game by requiring users to accept the typical license agreement that obviously no one reads, but it doesn't matter xd

And yes, you must get to the bottom of the text for the Accept button to be enabled, otherwise it makes no sense haha
It would be kind of brutal, but I lowkey want to add in a secret boss battle against a literal bucket, just so that if you use the kick attack on it, it says "[character] kicks the bucket," and drops you down to like 1 HP.
