Display Variable on screen at all times?

A friend and I are working together on a project that allows the player to battle multiple times based on a variable of their choosing. This is set up in a way that there are no rewards for each individual battle but instead checks how many battles were completed before this variable reached zero; the player escaped from battle; or the player was defeated and gives rewards based on that number.

This system works well as it is, and every problem we've run into has been fixed.. except one.

The problem is that currently there is no way for the player to know how many battles remain.

Ideally, what I'd like to set up is a small text box on the side or in a corner of the screen that displays the text

"Battles Remaining: [variable]"

My research into this gave me a bunch of mini-game related plugins and what I read on them suggested that it wouldn't work during battle processing.

If there is a way to do this within RMMV please let me know so we can try it, if not then do you know if there's a plugin that would do this?

This feature obviously isn't something we need, but we both agree that it would be ideal for any idle game to have a measure of progress for each task you undertake and having an indicator on screen of how many battles remain would be a perfect solution for any idle players who are alt tabbing through their windows to check progress on multiple games quickly. So it's just a quality of life type of feature for the player.

Any information or advice is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Additional information - This is to be used with a pre-scripted event, no random encounters will be used for this project. There are some other battles that do not occur within this scope, and function similarly to Pokemon battles (but still very much RPG Maker style) but we do not need the overlay message for those. (But in all honesty, it won't hurt for it to be there with 0 on screen)

PS I currently do not have access to the project because of how we set our workload up and how we scheduled everything. I can ask the co-developer to upload a video of the process if it is believed that will help, but it might be a day or two before that happens. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This goes way beyond my capabilities.
But it should be possible to Show Pictures while Battle.
Go to Database - Troops - Create Eventpage that is running before Battle Start, make conditional branch and show the correct picture.
And you need to decrease the Variable after the Fight is Won, this isnt easy possible with random encounters, but i read somewhere that there are plugins who can make that happen.

To quickly create Pictures with Numbers, you could use https://de.cooltext.com/

Ah, I'll add an edit to the original post to clarify, but random battles aren't a thing in this project.

You manually select which enemy you want to fight and then input a number dictating how many battles.

But you will need the Super tolls engine too, from srd.
It does what you want, but maybe this is so much to what you want.
i'm pretty sure there is a plugin somewere that it does only the function you want.

Do you need that window only in the scene Map? Or in battle to?
I will search for it and post a edit here.

The best part is that we had other ideas for other projects and this plugin helps with many of those other things too. More features is always a great thing, in my opinion.

One of the things we wanted was to ensure that this counter would only appear in certain battles if that was possible and SRD's plugins are significantly more feature rich and I can honestly say that our other projects will benefit from this as well.

The other links you provided all seem to have functionality that we have found in other plugins so I don't think we'll be using them, but I appreciate you taking the time to search for some alternatives for us. Thank you very much. :)

Hmm.... So I can use my quick ports of QPlugins, but QMovement breaks MZ's save system. Or I can use the Luna port of the QPlugins whose QMap breaks MZ's save system. I can't decide I want to fix one of those, or just make a new save system. The new one would look so much better.. I'm kind of tempted. :LZSexcite:

I just booked a spot for my COVID vaccine today. I am just waiting to see when they can get me in. I'll be so happy when I don't have to be paranoid about the virus anymore. I'm also thinking about moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Denver, Colorado, or Houston, Texas in the far future. Maybe once my channel gets off the ground.
