Let's say you have two different players/classes in the party.
One is a skilled fighter, average build, has years of training and experience in battle and is very proficient at using a sword.
The other is 7" tall, hugely muscular, has experience but in a very unrefined context, and is only of about average skill with a blade.
Who would you give higher base attack to?
I was thinking that the massively strong character should get higher crit chance, since if he lands a blow particularly well it's going to hurt a lot due to his strength. But that's counter-intuitive since most RPGs associate crit chance with skilled rogue/assassin/swordmaster types.
Curious how people would distinguish these types of characters. I'd like each to have advantages/disadvantages. Maybe the fighter would be more consistent and overall dmg, but the massive strong guy via crit chance has potential for higher damage spikes? Or maybe give the strong guy less overall dmg, but a chance for his attacks to stun the enemy?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
