Do we have the right to use RPG Maker's DLC on other engine or Youtube clip?

I suddenly have this idea.
Basically, when buying these music DLCs on rpgmakerweb.com, they say to me that these DLCs use for RPG engines ( RPG Maker; Visual Novel maker)

However, I wonder if we have the legal to use the same DLCs ( music; battlepack;...) on other engines like Game Maker, Unity, and especially is when creating clips for Youtube?

I have this idea when making several video clips ( upload on Youtube). It cost me much time to find the free music for my clip. While I actually bought very many music DLC on rpgmakerweb.com already.

So, do we have legal to use RPG maker's music to make Youtube's video clips????:elswt2:

If it says for use in RPG Maker or Visual Novel Maker "only", then you can't use it in other engines or Youtube clips. If you do, the creator can have your content taken down.

depends on the specific DLC in question.

There are a few (very few) DLCs that allow the use in any maker, but most DLC are exclusive to the RPG-Maker-Family (basically all Degica-distributed programs).
So you'll have to check the EULA of the specific DLC you're interested in.

As for videos it depends on the content - let's plays of specific games would count like screenshots and be allowed. Use outside of games is again dependent on the specific DLC.

thank you. But the trouble is they usually don't really say that they accept us to use their DLC on youtube or not.

Exp:

Almost of them just say " Compatible with RPG...".

that mean these DLCs like this are accepted to use on other engines and Youtube clips?

I don't see "Maker user only" in these DLCs link:

Should be - final confirmation will only be possible by reading the EULA of the product itself.

However in the first case you can also read the confirmation of that in the text description itself, the very last line:
For use in RPG Makers, Visual Novel Maker or the engine of your choice

Unfortunately sometimes the texts are not updated correctly or mistaken - the other two packs for example still refer to IG Maker, a program that has not been available for a decade or so.

The summaries of what is allowed or restricted should be updated, but make sure to read the full text of the EULA. If you have any questions about a specific pack, you can message support and they will be happy to clarify it for you.

Classic Fantasy:
  • For use in RPG Makers, Visual Novel Maker or the engine of your choice

Ancient Dungeons: Forgotten Depths:
  • Royalty free sounds to use in your commercial and non-commercial RPG/IG Maker projects.

Fantasy Adventure Mini Music Pack:
  • Royalty free music to use in your commercial and non-commercial RPG/IG Maker projects.

Classic Fantasy can be used in any game engine. Youtube is not a game engine. The others can only be used in RPG Maker / Indie Game Maker (and likely Visual Novel Maker - I imagine those were released before VNM came out)

So no, you can't use any of those as audio tracks for your youtube videos. Only if your video IS of you creating or playing a game that uses them.

I've seen some history videos on Youtube that use background images from RPG Maker. Guess they are just lucky to get away with it.

Yes, there are a lot of people doing things that breach the EULA. "Someone else is doing it" is never a reason to do it :)

Doing clean-up on tall-ified sprites, filling in pixel by pixel where the stretching warped the image, feels incredibly tedious but also highly rewarding when one zooms out and the sprite looks even better than before.
I found this app on the playstore and I'm loving it, it's very good for organizing project ideas
hmm one of those days where there's a lot to work on with my game... annnnnd I have no idea what I wanna do. most of it tho, involves drawing lol. either enemies or NPCs.
I'm going back to the default RTP, in the interest of getting it done. FSM is lovely but slow to work with and has tall doors. And switching to tall sprites would mean a lot of franking, and also the horses will be small.
