I'm trying to make a casino/betting shop for one of the villages in my game. The first game I am making is a simple game of chance, basically, it's a dice roll where the player must roll a 6 to triple their 20G bet, 1-5 loses.

I set the variable I called 'dice roll' as 1-6. It's rolling 0 every time and I don't understand why, it should be impossible for a 0 to be rolled given that I defined it as 1-6.

We can't make even a good guess without seeing what you've done. You might be calling a different variable than you set it to, but who knows?

If you post a screenshot of the event, you can get help.

Hard luck, my computer crashed and I lost my entire project (I had to reset my computer to factory settings, wiping everything), having to start from scratch! I guess that will teach me not to forget to save stuff I don't want to lose to onedrive. At this point I am grateful to have my laptop back up and running. On the plus side, it means I get to redesign some stuff I was having second thoughts about, so, silver lining in the cloud.

I recommend saving back-ups on 2 separate USB drives. Even if your PC crashed and one USB was corrupted, it would be exceptionally unlikely that the last one also stops working.

you can backup to a cloudservice, and you can use a cloudservice for distribution.
but NEVER work with the RM-Editors on a project stored inside a cloudsync'ed folder.

The RM's handle their files like a database does (think MS Access or Filemaker), and that is incompatible to 99% of the cloudservices, risking a delete of your entire project in the cloud (which means the backup gets destroyed as well)

Oh, I would not be working on a project while it's stored inside the cloud, I meant to use it purely as backup storage, so should anything happen to my computer, I can download the project from the cloud and put it back into my computer to continue. I want someting as backup only. I do have a small USB drive somewhere lying around, a 2GB one, if this isn't large enough, a bigger one shouldn't be expensive (I should get one anyway, my USB drive is over ten years old!). It might be an idea to keep it on USB rather than cloud for security. All I know for certain is that I definitely need backup because this time I only lost a couple of weeks work while I was learning the basics of how VX Ace works, if I had lost months I'd have been quite upset and angry with myself for not backing up! So, In a strange way, although this was inconvenient, it has reminded me about something important, AND given me an opportunity to redesign my game. I guess not every setback is necessarily a bad thing.

I was listening to songs by Chuck E Cheese's voice actor (Jaret Reddick from Bowling for Soup) when the meds I was taking for my stomach virus apparently stopped working. I can't take my next dose until morning, but it's no use anyway. I'm officially sick again. Of course, I'll definitely take the next dose either way, but it's useless now.
