Edit:
@ColaLime sorted me out, thank you again friend!

The fantastic sideview battler is in the spoiler below.

Resource Type: Sideview Battler.

Maker Format: MZ

Makers I Currently* Own: MZ/MV

Art Style: Unsure what it's called, sorry, the default style in MZ I guess?

Description: A simple brown bear, it's name is Bere, incase you want a name of this beautiful boy.

Oriongates made a fantastic vicious bear, though as stated by the creator, it does not exactly fit the aesthetics of MZ.
I've tried my hand on simply reducing the big bad bears size with mixed results, right now it's simply far too big (and vicious!)

I googled and looked and found bear-ly held together sprites of various bears.

This is more akin to the shape and physique, a round brown bear.

I hope you can help, thanks in advance!

Gonna try making one today. I'll post one frame so you can tell me if you like it before drawing the others

So, this is what I managed to get with some simple edits, for me it looks fine.

The steps you need to take:
Open the file in Gimp, it is free.

Use the color-curves option to get a more vibrant and contrasted color result by dragging the lower parts even lower and upping the bright parts just a tiny bit:

Then use image - mode - indexed. Set the color count to 15, no dithering.

Image - Scale Image to 50%.

Then: image - mode - RGB and right after that image - mode - indexed to 15 again.

Now you only need to select all the red or reddish color shades from the eye and play with e.g. color - Hue/Saturation until you have something that does not stand out as red.

Thank you for the reply, Avery. I was hoping more for what Cola Lime is doing, a brown bear that's a lot less vicious and fearsome and more aesthetically similar to the MZ style. Thank you very much for the little tutorial though, it helped me sort something else out I was trying to figure out.
Hey! Sorry for not responding to your first post, apparently sleeping makes it so I can't check on the forums.
That looks amazing! Are you willing to finish it?

I'm going to work on it right now. I don't know if it will be done until tomorrow, but I'll do my best:smile:

That is fantastic, thank you! And yes, if the little game ever gets released to any audience you'll certainly get credit. Excellent work!
//to anyone, feel free to use, edit for every use
no need to credit//

grief rpg maker... why oh why did I have to jump through like 30 hoops to (hopefully) have fixed the engine targeting ko'd people during multi hit/random attacks?
I finally finished the wrong clue death scene. So at least the player can see something cool before they get a Game Over. Prolly be less cool if they have to keep watching it repeatedly.
It's important for your party of adventurers to be harmonious and united.
