Remember XP's autotiles? If you wanted a particular one of the 48 possible patterns, you just double-clicked on the autotile on the palette, and it opened up a little window with all the possible combinations, and you could select which one to draw. Then you just click on the map and it draws that one autotile, specifically the pattern you selected, without changing the surrounding autotiles.
In MV if you want a specific autotile, you have to have an out-of-the-way part of the map where you could draw it, then you have to do the shift-copy/shift-paste to get it where you really want it to go. And hope that no other part of your map is messed up in the process.
I'd love it if MV lets you double-click, select a specific pattern on that autotile, and then draws with it, without redrawing the surrounding tiles, and keeps drawing with that pattern until you either select from the palette again, or right-click (which effectively selects another tile to draw with).
