The reason people find the sudden blue text popping out as annoying is because all the quadruple posts are merged into a singular post. If we left it be you'll scroll down on the same avatar with scattered thoughts and then the sudden blue text. Then you wouldn't find it as annoying anymore. It's better to leave the warning out to the public since sending PMs are a lot more work than what would one think.

I used to spend all my time PMing people (and still do at some cases) when they don't follow the rules at Project-Related boards. By the end of it, I just resorted to blue text since it's faster. Don't underestimate the amount of people who break the rules.

Actually it takes up more space because instead of just getting a double post, you're now getting a third from a moderator.  While it might be helpful for new members, veteran members don't really need to see every single time when someone gets warned.  It just contributes to even more spam.  Often times the moderator doesn't really contribute anything to the thread itself.  PMing would still get the point across without inconveniencing the other members.
Wow. I wasn't going to say anything more in this topic, but really it is unfair to make this about sound like the mods are clogging things up by keeping down the dbl posts.

If people do not see things enforced, they do not think they need to comply with rules; this is just human nature.

PMs spare feelings, but everyone can live with a public reminder, I think.

And if someone were spamming up my thread, I'd like to know a mod was defending it a bit.

As a comment on Cel's point, I agree that mods chime in efficiently and capably and promptly on help requests. No one needs to worry they are being ignored.

Another reason why moderators use blue text (i'm assuming it's the same here as it is over on our forum) is because then people can tell the difference from when a moderator is speaking as a member vs when they are moderating a person. before the blue text was started over on the VX Ace Community and RRR, people complained when moderators gave genuine feedback saying I "forced them" to add more content. When really I was just being a member giving feedback.

It's designed not to scaremonger you, but to help members know the difference between "mod talk" and just being a member of the community.

Just a thought for a compromise of sorts here.  Maybe the blue text should stay, but the font should be smaller (still slightly bigger than regular size, it does have to stand out) and therefore be less intimidating?

I personally don't mind it as it is, I'm just thinking of the people who do.

The whole point of the blue mod text is to grab attention and to make it more visible. There's no way anyone can say they missed a blue text mod post - which is easy to say if mod text is small, same as regular text or lacks brightness.

We used to use red text for mod speak, but it was too intimidating. We've toned it down to blue. It's not as intimidating, but it still does the job of grabbing people's attention. And it's going to stay. :)

Since the topic is now veering from double-posting to other moderating actions, I'm going to go ahead and close this. I believe the reasons why we don't allow double-posting have been sufficiently addressed by Celianna and Touchfuzzy.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
