Hello i hope i can post here my doubts. I´m doing the tutorials, but i have rpg maker ace lite and rpg maker mv the free trial. is there something in the tutorials that i can´t do due to version "lite" and "trial" of the rpg makers?

Cause i don´t find some options like the event layer in the layer selection tool.

As for RPG Maker VX Ace Lite, all of the limitations in the Lite version are removed. You can place more than 10 events in a single map. You can edit the script database without using any workarounds. Your items, actors, armor and such are no longer limited.
Lite version is the same product just with a good amount of limitations.

As for the Trial, it is exactly the same as the regular, paid version, except you are limited to only using it for a certain period of time before you have to buy the paid version.

Hope this helped!

Show us a screenshot. Ace and MV both have separate event layers.

Because there is nothing called "event layer" in either programs, it's called "event mode" and automatically activated if you switch from map mode to event mode in the menue or use the event button in the top icons.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
