Drain over Time

             Hey I'm new to Rpg Maker VX Ace and this is probably a noob question but its had me stumped.

Im trying to create a skill/state that has a drain over time effect. For example: 5% drain at the end of every turn.

I am currently trying to use Yanfly's Lunatic damage script but i am brand new to coding and cant seem to get it right.

If someone could just point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it.

No need for a special script, you can do this in the database.

Have a look at, for example, poison state.  You will see in the top right corner that it has ex-parameter HRG -10%.  That means that it will drain 10% every turn that it is inflicted.

Now create your own state, call it what you want.  Put in HRG -5% and there you are, done.

If you are new to RPGMaker, I would suggest that you stay away from scripts until you have learnt what you can do in the editor and with events.  And that particular script is not for beginners, as Yanfly states.  It does need you to know something about scripts before you can use it.

Sorry i wasn't very specific. I was wanting to convert it into health for the actor casting the spell such as a leech seed in the pokemon games.

Any other advice i can get on this subject? I dont need a poison i need a hp absorption over time skill.

Second, doesn't yanfly's Lunatic state comes with an absorption effect built in?

Sorry I posted the second one because I wasn't sure if I was clear enough but I believe there is an absorption effect I was just looking for advice on using the script because I'm fairly new to coding and everything

please put a link to yanfly's lunatic states script... :)


though... hmmm... leech seed style state needs the caster to be saved too... IDK if that script handles that

you can't do it using Lunatic Damage because that triggers only during damage... if you need something to happen every turn, you need to use states + possibly Lunatic States script...


Get the Lunatic States script + the Punishment Pack of the script... it has HP drain... though it works via the damage dealt to the afflicted target (basically drains from the target into the original caster when the target gets damaged), but you can use it as a starting point...

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
