Fair point. I'll keep at it, and thanks for the advice!

Something more like this in palette:

That looks a lot better already, the colours work better now :)

Keep practicing different shapes of trees!

Definitely still working at it. Takes a lot of time currently, but I'm sure that will improve with more practice.

Remember what I said about leaving gaps? :) as well as having darker leaves behind it? Try it out, it'll give your foliage so much more depth to it.

Try to erase some parts that are overlapping the trunk, so you can still see the trunk, and give some depth!

I'm trying to use more of the pencil tool, my past efforts have been way too blurry by using the brush tool too much.

@Haydeos not bad looking! The trunk looks really good. The leaves are all a bit too much of the same texture, so it looks monotone. You can fix this by making some leaves larger, and some smaller. See those yellow-ish specks you have? I suggest making some of them bigger :)

The before and after your advice. A drastic improvement, I think. Thanks! :)

Thank you so much for posting this! I love putting trees in my game and always seem to have a shortage of them. Now I can make my own. :D  I hope you do more tutorials!

Thank you so much for this!

It was really, really, really helpful!

I gave it a try and I'm also kind of happy with my results.

BUT do you have any trick to make the crossing between trunk and leaves softer?
In my first try it still looks like a clipart on the trunk i think :/

Anyway - Thank you very much!^^
