i know i said this in a status post, but i think it'd be fun to post this

My dream game dev partner would be a cute female around my age of 26(does not have to look hot). someone that likes true rpgs(kingdom come, wizardry, morrowind, etc.), fantasy life sims(rune factory, harvest moon, animal crossing, Urbz sims in the city), and mmorpgs( elder scrolls online, ff11, ff14). someone that's reasonable, smart and funny(not cringy), likes anime and willing to share her dreams and ambitions with my own. Most importantly someone i can trust. Hopefully i meet someone close to that on this website, then again I've been on here for years and never really talked to anyone on the forums.

post your dream dev partner in a post. is it a male/female? what characteristics will he/she have? what does he/she like. stuff like that.

For me business is business, and love is love. I know there's a line between business and hobby, but I don't want my project's development and integrity to suffer from external factors such as personal relationships. For a dev partner I want someone that completes my abilities and who has the same work ethic or better than I do. I do coding, design and music composing, and my weaknesses are visual art, marketing and public relation, so that's what I'm looking for.

I hope my future romantic partner can appreciate video games, but frankly it's pretty low in my list. I wouldn't mind her not playing video games at all. I'm much more concerned about her appreciating my other hobbies, especially classical music (big +++ if she plays an instrument, ++++ if it's the piano or violin so we can do duos), and if she's as ambitious as I am with her career, and businesses.

I won't post details because I already met her, and married her. Yes, she was on this website.

Never give up hope, Vance.

@Dalph Wait, really? You met her on this forum, or she simply happened to be on this forum?

@MushroomCake28
We were both users here who shared the same passion for game development.
At some point we met in real life and eventually got married.

I hope you do find such a person, friend. Someone who makes you happy and supports you does make the daunting task of game development that much better. From experience it's a two way street, you may have to engage in your partner's ideas and listen to what they have to say. If you share the same ideas that's fine too, but you should be open to feedback, even if its compromising to your current ideas.

edit: I forgot to respond to the last part, so here it is;

My "Dream" dev partner could be anyone (male/female don't particularly care) with a specialised skill. Be it spriting/coding/music, they would need to be well grounded, as in taking and giving feedback that is rational/reasonable and understands the financial situation. It may sound like a pretty high standard and I dont expect they'll fall out of the sky and suddenly help, I would certainly have a part to play in trying to engage them and share a creative spirit that most creative people have, if that makes sense.
