Dream Sequence

I started making a rpg game a few days ago. My game is going to contain quite of few of dream sequences. I can't seem to get the first one to work the way I want it too.

This is where the character is going to be before switching to the dream sequence. I have the event at the end of the path which will transfer me to a different map where the actual dream takes place.

This is what I did in that event to get me to where the dream is suppose to start.

This is where I am having problems. In this map I want the little girl running in a circle around one of the buildings and the father chasing her (repeatedly). I want the girl to say "Catch me, daddy," shortly after the dream sequence starts. After the little girl says it. I want some text being played. I want a conversation between the main character with her sub concious. (Kind of like between her super ego and ego) and after that is all done I want to return her back to the original map so she can continue her journey. Does that make sense? I don't know how to do that. Every thing I tried I can't get any of the events to move. 

Thanks in advance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really need to get the hang of making dream sequences since they play a big part in the game.

Unfortunately none of your screenshots has anything to do with your problem: moving events

There are two possibilities for this problem to happen:

1) you messed up with the map/tileset's passability settings, and the events don't move because all positions around them are impassable (check the tileset used here in the database for that)

2) you're giving the wrong commands for the events to move, or setting the wrong conditiones for them to start moving.

To solve the second possibility, we need screenshots of the event (singular, best is to have all event movement in a single cutscene controlled from a single event) that is supposed to control that movement.

I have been experimenting with events, and nothing has been working. All I want to do essiently is do a cutscene in another map, that is triggered by an event in the map shown in the first cutscene. 

The main character his the events. There is some dialogue and the character is transported to the second map which is the where the dream takes place. The coding I used is shown in the second screen shot (minus the control switch, that was just used while I was trying to figure out how to make this work) I have nothing else currently taking place to finish the scene I'm trying to make. I think I'm just making it more confusing.

The coding you showed stops when the actor is transferred to the map of the dream sequence, there is nothing in that screenshot that shows how you command the girl to move.

If you do not have those commands on the "dream map", then simply place a command on the dream map, set to trigger = autorun and place the move commands for the girl, the father, and the player into that autorun-event. If that event doesn't work, then place a screenshot of that event here and ask for more help.

I haven't added any text yet. I just really want to get the girl and the father moving around. I have this event running on autorun as soon as she reaches the dream sequence.

What is on the second event page (the one you didn't give screenshots for)?

If the girl and the dad don't move with the event above, then most probably the reason for that is that the second (still unknown) page is active, and not the first one.

If several pages have their conditions fulfilled, only the page with the highest number will be executed - so if there are no conditions on the second page, or if the conditions on the second page are fulfilled, then the event will follow the commands you placed on the second page and ignore the commands on the first page.

That event page was empty. I deleted the second page and tried pay it again and they still won't move. I.don't know. I haven't had any problems I couldn't fix until now. Thanks in advance fire trying to help.

Place a "show text" command at the start of the event, before the first move route command. If that text is displayed, you'll know that the event gets executed on the correct page.

Two other questions that might lead to the error:

1) did you start a new game or do you load an old savegame to test?

Savegames contain data from the game, and several type of changes will not take effekt unless you start a new game. If that's the case, then the old events and scripts will get loaded again, even if you changed them in the editor before loading the old save.

2) what tileset did you use for the "dream map"? if that tileset is not default or if you changed something there, then upload a screenshot of the tileset with it's passability settings visible.

If you made a tileset with the wrong passability settings, then the girl will not move because she cannot move on impassible tiles.

Thanks I managed to figure out the problem. On the autorun event the waking animation button on the bottom was on. So that is why it wasn't working. Really easy fix.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
