Zero: This is harder than it looks…
Terra: Of course it is...things like this are always hard
Zero:  How should I start….?
Terra:  How about from the very beginning?
Zero (takes a deep breath): I’ve always tried to block it out all this time...so hard to remember...why do you want me to re-live this?  It’s too much….I just can’t!
Terra:  But there are people waiting to hear all about your story!
Zero:  But it’s your story, too!
Terra:  But you started it…
Zero:  Sorry, I can’t…
Terra:  Zero...things die all the time...plants...animals...ideas...me...I died, Zero.  You saw it.  It’s time you come clean

Imagine waking up one morning and your life as you know it will never be the same.  That’s what happened to our hero, Zero Kurosawa.  Waking up with abilities to interact with anyone’s dreams and being able to manifest anything his mind can think of can be quite stressful for someone who previously was simply thinking about next week’s biology quiz and college applications.  On top of that, his seaside hometown of Summerset is becoming victim to multiple accounts of strange phenomena that no one can seem to explain.  On the way, Zero discovers that his newly found abilities and what is going on around town are tied together in a way no one can imagine.  Follow Zero as he dives deep into this rabbit hole that twists and widens into an epic adventure in this coming of age tale like no one has ever seen. This is the first game to be released in the Dreamworld Saga Epic Arc.

► Achievement System - Gameplay of 24 accessible achievements.

Zero

At the story’s beginning, he is 17 years of age.  Approaching his senior year of high school, it seems like he’s going out with a bang.  Popular, active in school, and romantically involved with the most popular girl in school, Zero seems to have the ideal high school life before heading into the next chapter of colleges and universities.  Unfortunately, for Zero, it isn’t that simple.  Recently, Zero developed the ability to physically enter other people’s dreams and interact with them, as well as manifest any item he thinks up in his mind.  Little does he know, these are only the start of a completely different destiny; as these abilities will evolve and develop into being able not to only manifest physical items….but lives, destinies and even worlds.  Eventually, Zero will realize that he was fated to travel a different path.  One that will shake not just our world, but all worlds and universes to the core.

Rez

One of Zero’s closest childhood friends.  Unlike Zero, he’s normal.  Set on a future in the nation’s military, Rez is at the top of his ROTC classes.  One of them is in marksmanship.  Rez is a skilled rifleman, able to shoot the stem off an apple at 600 yards.  When it comes to defending the world with Zero, his abilities with rifles, various firearms, munitions, and military tactics make him a valuable asset.  He is normally seen as a laid back, relaxed person until serious matters occur.  When that happens, he becomes silent, cold, and calculating….his mind trained to factor in every single possible situation and solution for the sake of the man next to him.

Sophie

Another one of Zero’s friends, Sophie is the bookworm/manga junkie of the group.  She is usually quiet and reserved, and actually quite shy.  She shines when it comes to problem solving and organizational skills, usually seen simplifying things for the group by breaking problems down and eventually finding solutions.  When she starts her work, she becomes completely quiet and focused, and becomes stern when she expresses her findings.  She is sometimes found solving puzzles to exercise her mind.

Kallie

Zero’s romantic interest, but at the beginning something already sparked when they were younger as friends.  Most people would judge from the surface that they are merely high school sweethearts, but people who look closer that the relationship between the two is much more that that.  Kalli as a person, is an extrovert, socializing with every single group on campus making her the most admired and role model for most of the underclass students.  Kalli also has a natural ability to lead as she is the leader of various clubs on campus.  She also has a compassionate heart, and tends to hide and protect all those she holds close to her heart, which early in her romantic relationship with Zero, caused issues because she didn’t want anyone else to know her true feelings for Zero.  Eventually, when Zero gained in popularity, it made it easier for her to slowly express her affections.  Upon this, another side of Kalli appeared, one that loves to stay at home with Zero and shut the rest of the world away.

Lloyd

The big bear of the group, Lloyd is known for his multiple trips to the lunch line for seconds, thirds, and fourths.  His immense size helps him in contact sports such as Kyokendo.  Despite his intimidating stature, Lloyd is a bumbling, gentle giant.  Loyal to a fauly, Lloyd is always the first to help back up a friend.  His weight and immense strength is also well known and an opponent’s bokken breaking upon blocking his blows during Kyokendo matches is a normal occurence.  He is also very outspoken and is the first to voice his opinion at a moment’s notice, especially if it involves an immoral action.

Sarah

A young lady with a stern demeanor.  Sarah is a brash, unfiltered, and sarcastic woman.  Her attitude is well known throughout the town.  Little does everyone know that this is simply a front; a wall that prevents other from seeing who she really is.  In truth she is very emotional and also actually has a crush on Zero.  Her personality makes her a natural at deal making and intimidation, allowing herself to be able to get through many situations.  While Sophie can organize, Sarah can maintain organization under her iron fists.

Terra

Terra was one of Zero’s closest friends at childhood but through an unfortunate tragic event, died well before the start of our story.  Terra liked all the same things Zero did, which made him such a great childhood friend.  But during childhood, Terra was the one that would make Zero stop and think, as Zero was much more a troublemaker and rebel as a child.  Little does everyone know though, that all this started because of his death.  Terra was the first domino to fall which eventually set up a chain reaction that we will be experiencing in Dreamworld Saga.  As you traverse this series, you will be uncovering the secrets of Terra and learning how he came to be and why he is so trivial to the plot.

So good news. Finally finished all the outdoor maps. When you finally play the demo, you'll understand why these maps tired me out. ^^

So here's a new screenshot. I'm looking to make the ship actually seem like it's in water and the scenery a bit more realistic. Any suggestions?

Your game is looking good. Story is kind of interesting. Maps are very well designed. The ship is looking good although you could make it better by adding a mast or two. Scene is realistic but you can take out a rock or two from the bottom right side and spread your rocks. Otherwise, I would LOVE to play you game. Keep it up.

It looks and sounds interesting. I love your excellent work on the port town, it looks very appealing. The other town preview shows cool use of the "walls" to make large city like walls that divide the town up, I hadn't ever considered such an element and I think it's a great idea. Your user interface looks really cool too. Is that one that you made?

As for your boat scene, it seems odd that the mast is going up forever, like honestly where does it end? Haha. I think if you made it shorter and added some sort of sail graphic to it that it would look more real. I'd maybe even consider adding a second one towards the middle of the ship. Perhaps a steering wheel of sorts on the deck?

It would seem that a mermaid is hidden in the scene. It looks like a great start to that scene.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to deal with the mast and rock situations tonight. I'll keep you posted. Also, there was nothing special about the user interface besides changing the window graphic and the font. By the way:

I'm excited to see what the changed version looks like.

If you don't mind my asking, I'm trying to make a port town myself and I can't find any sprites to use such as small boats, or even the sprites to make a larger boat like yours. Where did you find the sprites to do such?

I like it I think it looks better. I find it interesting that you decided to forgo the mast altogether. I'm guessing that it's not actually a mermaid but a shark. Yikes!

I did find the port stuff thanks.

So I'm curious how long you've been working on this?

It seems like you have moderate progress.

Ready for this?...

The story has been in production for 4 years now. The actual rmvx ace game has been in production for almost 8 months I want to say?

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
