Hi!
I want to fix a dropbox link from my resource thread.
It worked back then, but it doesn't work when I tried to open it today.
So I decided to make a new link, but it still doesn't work.
I've already pasted the link from the dropbox's copy link function.
Am I doing it wrong, or should I move it to another storage (dropbox alternative)?

it depends on why it is not working
if it is not working because you have the wrong privacy and distribution settings, then you need to correct them.

if it is not working because the download numbers exceeded the free transfer allowed, then you can either pay dropbox for more traffic or look for an alternative - just keep in mind that every server needs to be paid for, and other hosters have different rules for when and how they switch from free advertisement to requiring payment.

Seeing as there's no error code, the issue could be anything and we can't really be sure :0 Maybe it's happening because of high traffic. You can always switch to google drive. It gives a lot more storage space than dropbox anyways.

@Andar
Apparently the link doesn't work because there's an http and www before the actual link.
Once they're deleted, the link works. I think that's a bit weird, but at least it works now.

I'd consider it. My Gdrive is actually pretty messy as of now,
so I kinda want to have separate storage for RPG Maker related stuff.

Anyway, thank you! :D

You can log into your dropbox account and check your link settings there. Could just be traffic reasons depending on how many downloads you got and what sort of account you're using (free, premium, business). Though you can run into that issue with pretty much any cloud service. Just dropbox usually doesn't tell you that there were too many downloads or something while google for example does.

The only way to get 100% effectively rid off it is personal webspace to provide your downloads from.

Edit:

Guess it has been solved already the moment I was responding ^^"

It's still a useful information to keep in mind when the link
starting to get more traffic. So thank you! :D

Honestly the current link was made using a new dropbox account (created today),
the traffic won't be crowded. I have a bad habit of making dropbox account and forgetting the login info.
There are many dropbox account I've created, I've forgotten all of the login info.

In the end I just use login with google. xD

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
