Hopefully this is the right location for this thread,

So I've ran into a bit of snag. Essentially in my game there is an Empire and a Kingdom with the former being very much modeled after Ancient Japan/China, and so I've

been using the Sengoku tileset from the DS+ DLC. However the problem I have is that I realize it's incredibly limited in what you can make. Sure you can make towns, but if you want to make any forests or really any non-town locations your kind of out of luck. (Also anyone know an easier way to make water? Having to do shift-click to make water is really tedious.)

Anyone know of anything to do about this? Or maybe some suggestions?

What if you used the Samurai Pack?? but you'd have to buy it.

I actually do have that, but- I guess my rationale for not using it- is the fact that it's so jaringly different from the DS sprites.

Yeah, the only other pack is the samurai pack but then it's on the Ace style rather than the DS style...

I made a small map using the samurai pack, it doesn't look... bad. But when you go from zones filled with DS tilesets to one that is clearly not DS, it almost seems as though the art direction in a way took a vacation.

yeah, since as I said they have different styles... but then again, there's not much other feudal japan tileset that I know of.

RMMV
Do you have the original DS set? It has forest autotiles and tiles good for different dungeons. You could always try that.

Well I just made this...

A mixture of the forest autotiles, I expanded the trees size, and took the water from the Samurai tileset.

For reference here's the starting forest (which is far away from this zone)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
