This seems pretty neat. I kind of want to try for the contest so...

What is the most terrifying thing you could encounter while exploring a dungeon, cave or your very own basement?

I would have to say going into my unfinished basement at around 2:59 AM and then finding a pentagram made from blood on the floor, at 3:00 AM the Pentagram is set on fire as a creepy laugh rings out and a very horrid looking demon rises from the center of it, standing at 8 feet tall and looking down on me like I am his next meal. His cruel, sadistic grin forming as I take in the features of this beast... Dark brown fur, blood dripping from his elongated boar like snout with his sharpened teeth colored with the blood used to summon him. His eyes colored with the gold and tints of red, his pupils like that of a snake and his claws a dark onyx color. Taking a step forward the demon looks down upon me even more before opening his jaw and then slamming his mouth down onto my shoulder and his claws into my stomach.... *Shivers*

Congratulations, Scythuz! I heard your samples and the tracks are definitely amazing

For me, the most terrifying thing would be to crawl through a dark, narrow ventilation duct, heading into who knows what, and then suddenly for no reason a SWARM of cockroaches come out of nowhere to crawl over your face, into your clothes. You can't exactly quickly turn around since you're in a shaft, so you close your mouth and eyes and can only pray they don't get into your nose and ears... And then there's the ones that FLY at you.

That's my nightmare. I can handle snakes (love them), tigers, rats, you name it. But this one thing...

I generally don't have an issue with dark places, but when my mind does start to wonder it always ends in the same place...a man with a sharp hook for a hand, Candyman is the only movie I have every seen that actually scared me, and it has stuck with me, over the probably 15 years since I have seen it. There is just something about it.

@Scythuz Played the samples, that's good stuff, can't overlook the importance of good music.

I'm not joining but I had to share this.

I used to live in the basement with my family during my childhood years. It's divided into three, My parents room where there's a door that separates our room area (the kids). It is a bit lower than the other area which we considered as the kitchen. There was one night I had to some business. After I had relieved myself from the annoyance, I went down to plop on my pillow when I noticed two small figures in front of my eye as if interacting. I jolted full awake and noticed they were cockroaches. And then I looked across, there were cockroaches everywhere. They completely filled the floor space, part of the other wall AND there were 2 sewer rats just playing around. So I went out of that part of the basement immediately. There's the kitchen and I decided to sleep there, until I heard this THUMP, THUMP, THUMP on the walls. When I was looking for it, I saw a huge ass, flying, brown cockroach that was so fat whenever it lands it makes this scary noise. On freaking concrete. I was so terrified and I thought to myself, WHICH AREA SHOULD I SLEEP FOR THE NIGHT? Should I somehow find refuge in a cockroach and rat infested room, or should I attempt to play dodgeball with this behemoth of a cockroach.

Being the dumb chii I was back then, I went to the room infested area and battled against cockroaches. I had to jump above a drawer until they started crawling towards me and I couldn't scream since I was afraid a flying cockroach will land through my mouth. When I heard a SMACK from my parents room and it turns out my dad killed a rat. When he opened the door and the light was shown, the cockroaches and the rats scrambled away and I immediately went to my bed and covered myself in my trusted blanket. And forced myself to sleep. 

Yeaaahhh...

At my grandparents house there was a very small basement where they used to have a sort of laundry, and as a child I didn't want to visit them because I was terrified of that place,

I wasn't really afraid of a material thing in it (like a small animal), but what gave me the creeps was the basement itself and the darkness inside it, the feeling of being alone in a dark room was the scariest thing ever for me.

Basements are creepy because they're usually poorly lightened and isolated from the rest of the house, so when you're inside them you're more likely to hear every little noise and be easily influenced by it.

The not knowing what awaits you in the darkness is the greatest fear of all.

But if we want to talk about a material fear then my answer is definitely Scorpions, although there aren't poisonous ones here I was always scared by their sting (and still am in some way).
