It's like 2 in the morning but i hope this still counts.....
An inconceivably monstrous, hideous manifestation of a sentient parallel dimension that engulfs its prey, trapping them in nightmarish visions and slowly sucking out their souls over eternity, or until they give in and become hollow shells for it to control....
Maybe the discovery that one's basement was a mysterious torture chamber and that such basement goes even deeper than what it apparently appears to be - revealing many more more basements underneath.
The scene would be like this: ....... (please click spoiler below for the full story)
You enter through an attractively designed basement door.
With careful steps, you make your way down until at last you land on the basement's silent floors.
And then you notice a shelf of books to your right side.
You then start approaching it but the nearer you get, the more it ironically seems to move away.
You then decide to run towards it but you magically bump into it instead.
You then discover that it was not a shelf of books but actually an old painting of a shelf of books.
You touch the painting again and the basement lights up in a gradual manner.
Beneath the painting is a small door with a smaller version of the above painting.
You then open it and discover a staircase that creepily requires crawling for its entrance.
You courageously push forward by crawling your way through it.
Your chin then lands on a somewhat smooth and slippery surface.
And then ...
Suddenly ...
Dimmed lights light up and slowly brighten until their brightness reaches a full bloom.
You discover that your chin has actually landed on a crystal clear glass floor.
You then notice more crystal clear glass floors beneath - that appear to stretch downward indefinitely.
You further observe three wooden tables on each glass floor.
Out of creepy surprise, you rush to stand up.
And you see ....
Three wooden tables similar to ones you saw beneath ...
You start approaching one and upon close inspection ---- it actually does not exist.
You approach the next one ..
And ..
It also does not exist.
You then approach the last one and it never changes ..
But some stains become more readily visible..
Further inspection reveals:
Dried blood stains!
You then discover that the first two tables you approached are actually illusory holographic images reflected by an artful manipulation of light reflected from the only table that is solidly and tangibly real ---- the one you're at.
You give the table a second look ..
And...
You ...
Discover ...
A folder with files ...
You open the folder and browse the files ...
And discover about 30 identical pictures of a nameless person.
The other pages pertain to specific procedures undergone by the person.
You realize it was organized torture.
However, it was not really brutal torture..
The person was merely asked to lie on tomato ketchup ....which means the stains you saw were actually "tomato ketchup stains" ...
And say "The Quacky Duck Wants To Quack" 1000 times continuously non-stop.
And the reason for the many levels below and other expensive tricks and designs that were made ----- was because the perpetrator was an extremely wealthy person who started the project with the plan to have it published in a Guinness Book Record-- but, for some reason, just whimsically dropped the project.
The goal was to have 100 persons simultaneously speak the words, "The Quacky Duck Wants To Quack" 1000 times while lying on tomato ketchup on a wooden table and that each person should be doing it alone in one of the 100 underground crystal basements.
The apparent goal was, perhaps., to win the "Most Elaborate and Expensive Torture Prank" title.
However, this extremely wealthy person who funded such project irresponsibly got bored and just nonchalantly dropped the project.
But before you're through with the files ....
You hear a minor lock-like sound..
You look around and notice that the door entrance near the crawl-on staircase is already closed ...
