First Submission, here goes.

Synopsis:

This is a very story-light game. This game is mechanic-driven sparked in part by DanMachi. It is typical dungeon fare with a lot of grinding, and a lot of difficulty (especially right now, with little balancing done and eyeballed stats).

Features and Game Play:

As mentioned, the game is more of a wrapper for a mechanics idea. The primary idea is an edit to the experience system. Rather than use a level based system, the idea is to give each stat its own experience stat, and have each stat level independently. his is different from stat points where points are gained to distribute to each stat as the player chooses. Each stat gains its own experience as it used.

Only the primary character is controllable. Other characters can be added to the party, but they are AI controlled. Their stats increase as the primary character's stats increase.

A maximum of five skills can be learned by the player. Side quests can be completed to learn new skills.

There is a day system in place. As a player walks through the dungeon or whenever they talk with their "god," the date eventually changes. This is used to change selectable NPCs to add to the party and to revive bosses. Bosses respawn over time and can be killed while adventuring by other "parties" to avoid refights.

A floor jump feature is available. It will teleport a player down a random number of floors. Be careful with this; a jump to a much higher floor than the player is prepared for is possible.

Story:

The story revolves a proxy war for gods. As a disciple of god, the player's goal is to reach the bottom of the dungeon they created. The rewards are immense for completing such a monumental task, so alliances and backstabbing of convenience are common.

This story is subject to change at just about any time, and is welcome to input from various communities for change.

Characters:

Eric is a new adventurer who is about to become a disciple for a god. He feels he is ready to see the dangers of the dungeon with his own eyes.

Known Issues/Bugs:

  • Jump feature only works for first few floors.
  • After 5 skills are learned, it will say a new skill is learned even though it has not been learned.
  • Very bad enemy balancing. To compensate, talking to Santa at beginning allows god mode.
  • Side quest NPCs only appear if the side quest can be completed. This is for early bug testing.
  • Open town areas. This will be filled as game develops more.
  • No way to track experience. The experience does increase as intended, but there is no user-friendly way to check it.

Misc. tutorials:

Must talk to god to restore hp and to actually level up stats.

On 10th floor (Sanctuary), the fire pit can restore hp.

Party members are added in area before actually entering dungeon. They must be talked to, and only 3 can be added per run.

The demo is kind of long. Please be patient with it and please grind enough to give good feedback. I know it is an unfair game, but I would appreciate the feedback you can give me beyond commenting that it is too difficult. The game is also unencrypted, if that will help give feedback to balance the game (and if you want to look at the eventing; except for Hime's battle reactions and enemy reinforcement scripts, everything in the game was handled by events).

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
