I've been thinking for a day or two about how I can incorporate systems into an RPG Maker setting. While there is some things that just are impossible to utilize there are some things that make D&D what it is and put them into a RPG Maker Setting.
Story/Characters:
- This is tricky because the way I would like to do it, it can become quite a huge game very very quickly. Most importantly the character selection and the "Scenarios" or in D&D terms "Back Stories". This system runs together. However I think I will add some Generic, Race, and Class back stories in there to spice things up. (Keep in mind though, each back story is essentially a new story to the game! So... kind of like different games, I guess)
Combat:
- This one I think I will have as Tactical. This will prove hard to do because I think the available tactical systems won't do exactly what I have in mind. So, you will have a initiative checks (Move order). Critical Hit/Miss. Critical Hit will pull randomly from a pool of options, as will Critical Miss. You will also have the option to target; Head, Either Shoulder, Either Bicep, Either Elbow, Either Forearm, Either Hand, Chest, Stomach, Crotch, Either Quad, Either Knee, Either Calf/Shin, and Either Foot. Depending where you are aiming you will get a minus to your hit roll. I may decrease this as it's a lot of targets lol. As of right now thats all I have for combat... But will start thinking about how skills/spells will work.
Party:
- Like in D&D you will do Campaigns, before each campaign you will have the option to prepare. Keep in mind not all towns have the supplies you need. Not all towns will be willing to help you. Not all towns will have travelers to add to your party. Beware that Thirst and Hunger will be a thing. For EACH party member (So keep your numbers at a reasonable amount!). Party members WILL turn on you if you are going against what they believe in, so make your choices with that in mind. You will be able to have 6 combatants.
These are what I have so far, as I am not an expert at D&D mechanics, nor know everything about it, I will probably come up with some more stuff.
