Game Description - Dungeons and Tantrums is a fantasy RPG set in a nation rife with instability and conflict. Its central theme is the political intrigue that is present in such a bleak landscape, with several factions vying for control in a grand city torn apart by its ruler.

The main emphasis in Dungeons and Tantrums is the creation of a truly interactive world where your actions have consequences and you are able to shape the landscape as you desire. Join multiple factions and choose which guilds rise within this wartorn landscape, and which ones collapse.

As the title would imply, this project contains elements of humour but is definitely not a parody game. Characters will not always mix well together and some of their dialogue can become quite sarcastic and bad language is a possibility. Player discretion is advised. :)

Story - The nation of Darkmourne is suffering under the rule of a corrupt monarch. There is talk of religious war spreading to the neighbouring country of Zimala as King Wolfbane II seeks to spread his influence beyond his borders, and his subjects riot in the streets in protest of this drastic decision.

Due to the King's relative youth and inexperience, Darkmourne is run largely by a council known as The Praesidium. Comprised of the heads of various guilds and factions, they make the daily decisions and carry out the King's will. The people know them as little more than enforcers and support for the local guilds has declined as a result.

Darkmourne was once a paradise but has recently fallen into disrepute due to this instability and conflict, but one force hides within the shadows in service to the kingdom. Viewed as little more than traitors and vagabonds, The Family hold the majority of the political power in the capital city. They have spies within every institution and have bonded together under one banner in order to regulate crime and keep the country running smoothly.

South of the city, a young girl has signed on with a local merchant to serve as bodyguard on his expedition to the capital city. She sleeps soundly in the Royal Arms Inn, unaware of the role she is going to play in the salvation of the Kingdom . . .

Playable Characters

Melody is the protagonist of Dungeons and Tantrums. Hailing from the town of Twin Peak, she has recently left to find her fortune in the capital city of Darkmourne. She has a somewhat sarcastic personality that does not win her many friends, but deep down she means well . . . Sometimes.

Her class is determined by the player when they begin a New Game, but the choices are:

  • Warrior – A high defence tank character with skills that focus on physical damage and lowering the enemies’ abilities.
  • Rogue – An agile class who can inflict various status effects. They focus on physical damage but not as much as a Warrior.
  • Magus – Your archetypal glass cannon. A high damage class with a focus on elemental abilities, but suffers from low defence.

Melody begins Dungeons and Tantrums in the employ of the merchant Tobias Wintermire as he himself travels to Darkmourne City. She is bemused by the antics of fellow bodyguard Rudy Masters, who she simply believes is trying to get into her pants.

Rudy Masters is a self titled ladies man, who is known for using his “Other Head” to make important decisions. He is a member of an underground crime syndicate known as The Family where he often serves as a spy, going undercover on various missions. He is known for being extremely arrogant with an answer to everything. Basically, not the kinda guy you take home to your parents . . .

Rudy is a DuelistA class who often rely on rapiers and other more refined weaponry in order to confuse the enemies and boost their agility. They can inflict several status effects and rely on high Charisma in order to deal maximum damage with their special techniques.

Rudy Masters begins Dungeons and Tantrums in the employ of Tobias Wintermire, along with the protagonist Melody. His motives for signing on as bodyguard are unclear, but he is spending the majority of his time ogling Melody and making off-colour comments, much to her distaste.

Dungeons and Tantrums allows the player total control over the protagonist, Melody. There are multiple classes available each with their own skills, equipment choices and class specific quests and storylines.

On-Screen Encounters mean that frustrating random battles are a thing of the past! Enemies will pursue Melody across the wilderness, but through skillful evasive action you are able to only fight the battles YOU want!

The Side-View battle system keeps the pace flowing, and features two different skill currencies. As the battle progresses, AP develops naturally and is used to cast Magical Skills whereas TN is accumulated through taking damage and can be used to unleash powerful Physical Attacks. Bide your time and then utilise these multiple skill currencies to unleash devestating combo attacks!

The Blacksmithing System allows you to create your own weapons with ingredients mined in the world, or gathered from fallen enemies. Gather hidden recipes and customise your parties equipment as you see fit!

Interesting Character Interaction is a key element of Dungeons and Tantrums, further immersing you in the action as you are treated to dialogue that avoids the trap of becoming generic or repetitive.

The landscape of Dungeons and Tantrums is littered with a myriad of Sidequests, many of which have multiple paths and will influence the world in ways you would not always expect.

Discover and train multiple Non-Combat Skills in order to uncover many paths and items you may otherwise have missed!

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
