Earthbound Or Mother 3 Looking Battle Backgrounds?

If you have ever played any of the games in the Mother series you know how surreal and trippy the battle backgrounds look.

They look like that
Skip to about 0.50 to see the battle background.

If you notice the background waves and moves. It also has a tad bit
of animation.

I have tried multiple scripts but if I ever try to mix the two
I get an error message.

Also is there a program I could use to make custom battle backgrounds like those seen in this series?
I'am using paint and this is what I got.
I got it to move but nothing else.

Also is there a checkered grid template for vx ace battle backgrounds?

Battleback Ex is a script that can do something close to that. You can have as many battleback layers as you want and apply movement to each one. There's also a wave distortion effect you can use. You can probably get close to some Earthbound effects if you mix the wave effect with an animation

Yea that ones a bit complicated but I will try it
