Just saying here that my project isn't abandoned yet. A lot has happened the past few months, and I didn't have the time to continue the project. But since I have time now, I'm going to continue the project again. I've purchased Luna Engine and been planning to use it, and my friend is making an UI for it (thanks chibi!), so it saves more time. I'm overhauling the dialogues to make the characters more "alive". I have changed the battle system too. The thing that worries me is mapping. I am bad at mapping, but I will try to make it different from the dungeon generator lol.

Well stay tuned for the next update! I'll update the OP for newer info too!

The fifth update is finally released! I've rehauled the entire game! So you might want to start a new game. :p

Also I've updated the OP with new info and such. Might want to take a look. ;)

It seems I ignored this project again. Well since someone wanted to be a tester, I picked up speed in development again. Currently doing Chapter 3.

I just spent the last hour and a half playing this game, and I've encountered some fatal bugs that prevented me from making any progress. Before I get into that, I just want to say that I was enjoying myself as I went along, and I can definitely sense the Persona influence throughout, lol.

When I was taken to the cave, I did alright, (though I think the enemy balancing needs some adjustment--I found myself being near death at times, before I even had a single turn to do anything.) then I got an error from the skill animation script saying it didn't have...something, and it would crash the game. (I've added a screenshot of the message I get.) This usually happened when I tried to escape while inflicted with an ailment. This was so, so frustrating as I'd gotten so far, and I was steps away from the save point when it happened. v____v

I re-loaded to do everything again, but the crash happened...three more times.

Then I tried a fourth time and I made it to the Cave Depths...as I went to that save point, I had a battle in which the sister was killed because all 4 enemies attacked her and her alone...so I tried to escape, since I didn't think the brother could win without her. (He'd get caught in a cycle of having to use his turns to heal, then he'd always take a large amount of damage and need to heal again...until I ran out of options other than to watch him die, too.) When I went to escape, he ran but since his sister was dead, I got a game over screen for some reason. I couldn't keep playing after that.

There is also the issue that sometimes I can use Dia to heal in the menu, and sometimes that I can't. I have no idea what the pattern is, so I was forced to eat up many HP recovery items when I couldn't afford to. Q^Q

Also, something is wrong with the menu character selection. When I go to, say, learn a new Art...the menu doesn't give me the option to switch between the characters. I end up cycling to the same one, and when I press 'back', I'm taken to the main menu, but the option to select someone else doesn't appear. So to skill up I'd have to back out completely to the map, go back in and select 'equipment' or something, click on the character I wanted to skill up, back out, go to the Art menu and then I could access that person's skills. @__@

There were some minor bugs, too, such as the second-floor fo the main character's house not shaking during the earthquake. (I'd gone back up there to save.) Also, the merchant said he'd given a map for the siblings to learn their way with, but no such item was in my inventory.

Oh, and when the player is being taught battle mechanics, there is a bug--when I clicked on the option to ask how to increase SP, (..I think...it was one of the 3 options near the end of the tutorial.) their father's face was talking instead of the purple haired guy's.

The battle encounter rate is a little high, too...sometimes I'd take 2 steps and be in a battle. I also kept getting spammed with the spider using drain all the time, and if their AGI was boosted by the bats, they became incredibly difficult to beat.

I played this on version 5, just to note.

I'm interested to keep playing, so if you do fix these issues, I'd be happy to try again! :)

Thank you for your response! I'd never thought someone would reply...heh.

Well anyways...

When I was taken to the cave, I did alright, (though I think the enemy balancing needs some adjustment--I found myself being near death at times, before I even had a single turn to do anything.) then I got an error from the skill animation script saying it didn't have...something, and it would crash the game. Yeah, this is a bug that my friend found, and fortunately I have fixed it! It's caused by having status effects on the characters. I assume the State Animation script doesn't like Symphony, so I've disabled the state animations on the characters, but not the enemies.

Yup, it's a bug I've found recently too. Unfortunately I currently can't find the solution to it, so just don't escape while someone is dead.

There is also the issue that sometimes I can use Dia to heal in the menu, and sometimes that I can't. I have no idea what the pattern is, so I was forced to eat up many HP recovery items when I couldn't afford to. Q^Q

Yeah, that's known problem. I can't find what causes it either...I'll try my best though!

So...you can't switch characters when wanting to learn Arts? I thought I've set up a dialogue at Wesley training saying "Press Q and W to switch characters"...well either way, do press those keys to change characters.

There were some minor bugs, too, such as the second-floor fo the main character's house not shaking during the earthquake. (I'd gone back up there to save.) Also, the merchant said he'd given a map for the siblings to learn their way with, but no such item was in my inventory.

You're not supposed to go up there xD. I'll prevent that. Thanks.

Oh, and when the player is being taught battle mechanics, there is a bug--when I clicked on the option to ask how to increase SP, (..I think...it was one of the 3 options near the end of the tutorial.) their father's face was talking instead of the purple haired guy's

I think it was carried by the original dialogue...but thanks for noticing.

The battle encounter rate is a little high, too...sometimes I'd take 2 steps and be in a battle. I also kept getting spammed with the spider using drain all the time, and if their AGI was boosted by the bats, they became incredibly difficult to beat.

Yeah, I'm actually not happy on how the encounters rate are so I've turned it down 5 days ago.

Well, thanks for your feedback. In any case, if you want to be my tester, PM me! The version I'm making now have less bugs, and I've developed Bose already! Either way, thank you again.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
