I think I'm getting it, but I do have another question.

Your tutorial assumes the character going into GG mode stays the same, but in my game, the character's supposed to switch to another character ID. For example, my main characters are all going to have odd numbered IDs while their GG forms get even numbered IDs. In addition, IDs 3 through 6 are of a character who starts out as a giant pig in both normal and Gordo Grande form, but later he gets a move that gives him an elephant trunk, so his ID would need to be changed to a character with different sprites. In addition, the trunk itself is another character, so that would be another ID to add and remove, so how would I go about changing from one character to another this way.

Actually, you got me wrong. I did not assume their character IDs would stay the same. I only assumed you would only want to restore the party to a state before it was influenced by Gordo Grande.

In other words, even if you had actors 1.3.5.7 which would be normal, and 2,4,6,8 would be their transformations... As long as you want to restore the party to 1,3,5,7, nothing changes. Because the values of the first four variables are hard coded and will change only when you make them change.

Here's the code I have for the common event and the in-battle switch, but it doesn't seem like it works. I get an error after the event's over with. Did I do something wrong?

The code on the left is alright.

I see now what the problem is though. The gordo grande transformation isn't referenced in variables! Sorry, my mistake.

So on the right add his ID to variable, but a different variable from the party! Let's say 5 for demonstrative purposes (but use any one you want) and on the left begin not with Change party member: Remove variable[0001], but [0005].

And what kind of an error are you getting?

I am not sure... Because the alert window doesn't say anything helpful. It says an error occured in an address in RPG_RT.exe, but I don't know the code of the file, which is in binary, so impossible to read with a hexa editor...
I wonder, would creating a new project and copying the RPG_RT.exe from there help?

I doubt it. I'm going to try and update that topic to ask for help.

I won't have to make it so that mode can only be activated when the user's alone, will I?

No, the Gordo grande itself is completely fine and works on my PC without problems. Not sure if you're using an old save, which are incompatible with newest version of the game, or there is just a critical bug in your code that is throwing this animation out. But the gordo grande code itself works fine.

I'm trying a new strategy, but it requires being able to take out guys at will, as well as sending them out when they die. The latter will likely be easy, but the former might be tricky.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
