I'm searching for a script that allows you to designate an element for slip damage. It doesn't need to have any more features than that. All of the ones I've found while searching require you to have other scripts installed which I have no need of; I assume there must be one out there that works perfectly fine on its own.

Search for "Element EX". Pretty sure it's made by Aditmuziko.. (I definitely spelled that name wrong)

You will need to provide a little more info on that.

Slip damage can be done by using states, and elements/resistance are normally set on the skill part before the states are applied.

Although states itself can raise/lower elemental resistance, the actual calculation in done on the skill part either by effects or by damage formula.

The state's slip damage should work about the same like the tile damage but you get to control how much damage is taken per 20 steps.

More infos on damage formula can be found here:

edit:

and oh, i think i've seen a script before that allows you to use damage formula inside a state. but it's not called slip damage. probably DoT (damage over time) or something like that. Look up in the master script list for it. I am sure you can find it there.

AdiktuzMiko's Slip Damage EX script requires the Element EX script to implement elemental slip damage, which contains "features" that I don't need and would cause needless complication. Hence why I mentioned I was looking for a script that does not require any other scripts.

My mistake. I saw elemental slip damage and didn't read the request thoroughly.

I'm curious... Where would the complications come in? I used that script with dozens of others and had no compatibility issues. And I thought the "features" can be changed in the module to where they have only the default effect anyway. Have you actually tried it yet?

The Element EX script conflicted with another script I had previously put in, and the overlapping functions were easier to implement with the other script than Element EX.

However, I found a solution to my problem. As it turns out, you can implement elemental slip damage with Slip Damage EX without needing Element EX as well, simply by using b.element_rate(x) in Slip Damage EX's damage calculation. Tested it out, works perfectly for my needs.
