Project Overview
There is a legend of a world known as Ellyiter, this world is closed off from the greedy hands of man. With their absence, this world is a place of dreams… a yearning call to what we once called earth. 

Adventurers dream of such a world, uncharted and untouched... a dream far from their grasp. Only one could dream of even scratching its surface. Then an lucky five fell to the world captured by a call stronger than any force they have ever encountered...

Embark on a journey through the unfamiliar and foreign world of Ellyiter! Find the few whom have entered the world and unravel an legend...

Okay this was an incredibly short demo, so I am going to judge on what I saw.  I got around 10 minutes of game play all together from my first run through.

A few of the maps were rather large in the forest past the log blocking the path to the boss.  The Dog didn't seem to have much to do with anything.  I'm not sure why you included it.

There were plenty of mushrooms to find, but they only restore 10 hp.  At minimal level the hero is 800 hp so it feels like these are meant to be used in excess out of battle.  That doesn't seem right.

I'd advise making them restore 200+ hp to make it worth a turn in battle.

The dialogue is very hard to understand.  I am aware English is not your first language, but if I do not understand what Ursam is saying other than "Epic", I can't really follow his story.  I advise you get together with a native English speaker and work out some of the kinks here.  It will dramatically improve things.  The editor you choose will be able to help the script and give you some insight into how the player is processing what you are trying to tell them.  

What I did get is that Ursam is looking for a sage who sent them to this world, and that he has been asleep for what seems like years.  As soon as that was established and I was attempting to save someone from monsters the demo ended.  Aside from the boss and those imps I couldn't really see what battle had to offer.  The fights themselves were short, and I didn't understand why I was even attacked by the forest boss or what they were doing, or why the skull was important that I snatched from the altar. 

The characters themselves had a good amount of skills to choose from, it's a shame they don't get to stretch them further.  I advise giving the forest boss some sort of mechanic or spell other than auto attack, or defenses against physical attacks to force Ursam to use his ice skills rather than spam auto attack.

​Jewel piece should probably be "Jewelry".  Biast didn't seem very grateful I returned her necklace and just sort of ran off.  I assume the green mage is my companion, but she also seems to be a shop which is rather pointless since there are no random encounters in the forest.

It was entertaining, but too short to really tell me what the game is about or what I am doing in the world the sage sent me too.  Good luck with your progress =3

Thank you that you post a large feedback, I really appreciate it!

As for the dog, .. wait? Did you see a message there? Oh no, there's something wrong with the dog event. I'll fixing it. And why the dog is there? You can see it in the next demo. As for mushrooms, isn't 200 HP too much. Because there are nearly 20+ mushrooms to find out. But Ursam already have 500 cash, and the player can buy other healing items from Eomi.

For dialogues, I'll need to hire a writer.

No, actually there are two sages. The female is a seer I just realized, villain is a sage. One male, one female (Lor'bel) can she is playable character. And male one is who has sent Ursam (and other peoples too of course) in his own world. Lor'bel is first enemy of the male sage and she's living in Ellyiter for hundred years now, and Ursam is looking for her. Clearly, Male sage is villain and female sage is a playable character.

Actually, it's simple. Sage has summoned so many monsters in his world to kill them. Reason: All are the enemy of the sage. And skull is important but why, it's a key to a secret door you can see in the next demo(?)!

Since this is first demo, but updated. I don't really take care of these things but now I'll have to begin serious with these. I'll be making some custom skills for the forest boss. And other monsters.

Also, there are not much enemies I finish, I need to edit some chibi battlers. But I'll be making random encounters too.

It's Green River Map, uses lot of shift clicking.

And finally, demo V1.2 is available! I've taken palladinthug's suggestions and put them in the demo. Be careful! There might be trap battles!

From the previous demo I reworked on everything, dialogues are now really fair.

Hi,

I'll play the game later, but for now i can give some feedback judging by the things you put in the post.

The story is normal, not cliche, not the revelation of the year, so it's cool as it is. But as i always say, it depends on how you develop it, the plot etc.So... i can only talk about the story once the game is finished and i finished the game.

But if there is something i can judge is the maps. There are structuration problems in them, you make them too big so that gives a feeling of empty. First 4 maps are cool because they have the perfect size and distribution of things (trees, water, mushrooms etc.) but 5-6-7 and 8 are really huge, empty and have bad distribution. I'm not that kind of person that hates everything empty and that likes everything full of addips (flowers, grass, lots of trees, rocks, more flowers... you know) because it makes the map saturated... empty maps are acceptable when they have a logic behind them (i.e a desert, ghost town) but a balance must be found. The next maps are... are bad, i'll say it. I'm talking about the last map from the first spoiler and the second map from the second spoiler. Structure problems, distribution problems, definition problems... they look bad, it can be heavily improved. It just seems like you took ice pillars (i don't know how to call them, my vocabulary is limited, english not my first language xD) and just put them all over the place without no reason. Every map must have a definition (what IS the map... if it's a desert you won't put lakes and mushrooms, right?) Every map must have a structure (that is linked with definition. i.e you won't make a flat mountain... right?) And finally, the map must have a balanced distribution (not throw random stuff around, not saturate the map with 200+ tiles... a balance) So... yeah, you can improve it.

That was the critique, about the good points: well, the graphics sure are. The DS+ style is awesome and you didn't mixed anything (as far as i can see) which sometimes may look bad (not all times) The portraits and character sprites are really cool and the style is balanced and well defined. I really like it, is soft and nice to the eyes. Btw, is Ursam a female version of Eric? Because it looks like Eric xD

Not much to say about the characters, you don't give too much information but that is ok, i'll try the demo later and when finished i'll let you further feedback.

But for now, i must go.

On every release of demo I rework everything, on maps as well. I don't had much experience about mapping of DS style, but I tried my best. I will try to improve as best as I can. I am using DS mostly, not DS+ but some of the behavior sprites are from DS+.

Important Note : After cleansing all of my trash and re-installing windows, I loose all my data. Ellyiter is still not cancelled, but I have to re-work on it. Don't begin surprised with this notice, it happened few times to me.

Note to Team : We will still work together on this project, but not now times, since this project is now on hiatus I will reporting to lock this thread until I came back.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
