I want to have a room take up a majority of the screen but even when I fill the entire map there's still a giant black void around it and I can't seem to make it smaller. Would anyone know how to fix this?

what is your screen size (in pixel) and what is your map size (in tiles)?

your map size multiplied by 48 (the grid size) has to be larger to cover more of the screen if you increase the screen size. The default minimum map size only works for the default screen size.

@Andar My map size is 8x8 with tiles completely filling it. As for my screen size, my monitor is 1920 x1080p.

How miraculously do you want to have no black space if your map is smaller than the game window...? If you don't want to have black spaces, your map needs to have at last 17x13 tiles size. Or you can change game window size via script, but there still be "black space" on fullscreen.

1920 x1080 means 1920/48 = 40 and 1080/48=22.5
Your minimum map size is 40x23 tiles, any map smaller than that will have black border.

EDIT: I was talking about your game's screen size, not your monitor size.
If you haven't used a plugin to change the screen size of your project, the minimum map size is 17x13 tiles.
