Hi all,
May be a dumb question, but they all start to feel that way after a while. Nevertheless, my project is coming along!
I have a question about installing a new weapon graphic and its animations into the game. I needed to implement a katana for a character in my game. My copy of RPG Maker MV came with the Cover Art Characters Pack and Essentials Add-On, so upon checking out Weapons3.png in my project's System folder, I found that I already had a katana (three, in fact) ready and waiting there on the sheet. This is apparently standard if you have the first or perhaps both of the above packs.
It was my understanding that, in order to use it (since I don't have to go through the work of installing the graphic - that's already there to be used), I had to take three steps: 1. Create a new weapon type, 2. Create a weapon of that type, and 3. under the system tab, select the appropriate User-Defined in descending order on that sheet. The very first row on that sheet is a katana, so I just selected row one.
Unfortunately, when I go in to test the particular battle scene again, our opponent is still wielding an ordinary sword. Any ideas? If it's relevant, I have this in side-view mode and the actor is an ordinary battle sprite turned enemy via Yanfly's plugins.
