All,

Since I intend to release a commercial game *eventually*, I've been looking into what comes after game creation has been finalized.  I'm seeing many, many opinions on Encryption, and that there are "degrees" of encryption.  What is the acceptable route to go?  Do I have to hire someone to do it, or will Tsukihime's process work/is it acceptable?

Here is Hime's link...

I've also heard that Steam will do it for you, or itchio will... general thoughts from people who've gone the commercial route would be greatly appreciated.

First question. Are you using RPG Maker MV, or one of the RGSSx based makers? (RPG Maker XP, RPG Maker VX, RPG Maker VX Ace)

Personally I go with the standard VX Ace encryption.

For Steam specifically I use their DRM wrapper around the standard exe-file + a script call.

For non-Steam releases I would follow the guidelines presented here:

It seems like this is going to be another remote semester. RIP.
I don't like linear gear progression in games. I'd like to see more gear be useful from start to finish. This is also true for skills. I also like finding overpowered gear, and don't enjoy games that are too balanced.
Framework is getting closer to completion. Adding more QoL changes for users.
I'm very excited with DE:VOID! And FYI Darkness of Hope - The Pocket Watch in development, so please be excited!
The more I look at the QPlugins... The more I am amazed at what they can do. Which I'm not going to lie is pretty awkward, because I already consider them far and away the best plugins MV has to offer. :kaoback:
