Hello everyone. I've been searching for encyclopedia scripts, but I couldn't find anything useful to me. All the encyclopedia scripts take their content from the database and barely have space for a tiny description, if at all. I'm looking for one that lets me display large blocks of text in a regular window, like this:

Perhaps being able to show a small optional image would be useful too, but really, I want to write large blocks of info and that's it.

Does anyone know a script that does this? Can you do it yourselves if it's not a very long task?

Thanks in advance ^^

How are you going to access the scene?
Is it through script call? or is it attached to the main menu?

I use custom menu scripts, so as long as the scene exists I can attach it to any menu.

If I open the encyclopedia menu, do I have a way to access other information?
Or do you only want a huge single window to write everything in there?
Additionally, do you want it to be scrollable?

No, no, I said encyclopedia specifically because I'm reffering to a scene that contains multiple pages of information. Like this:

I suppose I should have clarified it before, but I'm too dumb to think ahead I guess. The idea is that you select one of the pages and a block of text appears (depending on what you choose obvs). The block of text should be quite big, I think I'll have to write a lot in some of them.

Scrollable would be nice too, if you want to implement it ^^

In a search for encyclopedia script I found Sakuraba's Encyclopedia.
I modified it to look like this

Does that meet your needs? Or does the text window need to be the entire screen.?

I don't think Sakuraba's window is scrollable. Also your script's window edits seem to be going past the screen width/height (window borders get cut off at the bottom and right)

A better fit would be Estriole's notebook:

I will say the script above has a lot of messiness to it. There is a flicker with:
the help description on scene startup
the entries window once you exit a note
the "press shift" help window once you exit a note

I feel like it can be fixed, but it'll need a lot of tweaking for it to smoothly work.

There is one script I can think of that fits what you want and that's this one, but there is a caveat - it's all in Japanese. Apparently the creator of the script (Claimh) does not want his script translated into English, so you probably won't find a translated version around anyway.

That said, there is a tutorial (in English) on how to use it, but of course if you want to edit the thing for your own purposes be prepared to have to go through a whole bunch of Japanese comments and documentation.

That could work. However, I have one more request: I use Word Wrapping Message Boxes, by KilloZapit, but it doesn't seem to work with Sakuraba's E. for some reason. I've seen it work with other scripts, so I don't get why it's a problem. Do you think you can fix that?

I'm checking it and yes, it's a mess. I'll see what I can do with it. Thanks!

That sounds like a lot of work, but I'll use it if everything else fails. Thank you!

It does scroll, and the image was made with the snipping tool not alt+prntscr
Word Wrapping Message Boxes, by KilloZapit,
I can test it, but I doubt I can make it work.

*Update - The word wrap definitely does not work.
You would have to add more entry lines to the script because it uses draw_text
Someone else will probably have a better solution for you.

I mean I checked it as well, I think they meant that they want the description window to be scroll-able (not the list on the left).
Sakuraba's script doesn't by default have a scrolling description window. (v1.1)

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
