End Cutscene and and a new event

hi, i am having a problem as i created an intro cutscene, so what the problems is that i transfer my player to another map (where the player is usable) and on the map i cannot access to another event??
Im not much of expert , just been week working on Rpg maker XP ...
Please need help , in easy language ...

What do you mean, you cannot "access to another event"?


Are you unable to move? If you use the arrow keys, does your character turn?


How is your cutscene created - an event on the original map, or a common event?

Yh ! i cannot access to another event and i have made my cutscene as an event 
all i want to do is when user enters new game the intro cutscene is shown and when the cutscene ends i've tranfered the player to another map where i want the player to be usable but on that map there is a chest opening event and i cannot access it

You really didn't answer any of my questions - you just repeated what you already said. I could ask you the same questions again, or I could just say "can you read them again and answer what I actually asked?"


I need to know WHAT you mean by "cannot access", whether you can move at all (turn in the direction of the arrow keys) or not. And I need to know how your cutscene was set up.

i made my cutscene as an event on the original map, not as a common event ,

And yes my player is movable and visible  on another map as i transferred him from the cutscene event.

But on the transferred map i want there to be a chest quest event but whenever i go on that event it doesn't start or that event just disappears

So you CAN move on the new map, but the chest event doesn't do what you want it to?


Can you show a screenshot of the chest event? If it has multiple pages, show all of them, and make sure you include the WHOLE event window, not just the event commands.


It's likely that you've just used a switch or self switch incorrectly.

How to take a Screenshot:


You've heard people say to take a screenshot, but how does one take a screenshot of their game? Simple, while the game is running, hit the Prt Scr button on your keyboard, which is located right next to your F12 key. If you're using a laptop, you might have to use the Fn key in combination with the Prt Scr key to get it to work.

Now that you've pressed the button, it's time to paste this screenshot into an image editing software. If you don't have anything fancy such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET, no worries; you can use MS Paint instead. Open up your image editing software, create a new file, and then hit ctrl+v on your keyboard, or simply right click on the screen and select paste. This should instantly paste the screenshot into your image editing software. You can go ahead and crop the image to suit your needs, or if you don't even know what that means, you can just upload it as it is.

Save the image as a PNG, or if you really need to, as a high quality JPG.


How to upload the image to the forums


Now that you have you have an image on your computer you'd like to show us, how can you get it to show up on the forums? Firstly, you need to find an image hosting site, photobucket.com or imageshack.us are popular ones. If you have another image uploading website, great - use that one! Either way, upload it to the site, and then get the direct link. Don't get the resized link, or the thumbnail link, but the direct URL. You'll know you have the direct URL if the URL ends with the file extension you saved your image in (which will hopefully be .png).



Once you have this direct URL to your image, simply use the IMG tags in your forum post and paste the URL in between them. If this image is big, please leave the image in spoiler tags.

I don't see any chest in there.


But for the event you HAVE shown, tab 4 will always be active, because it has no conditions.


When the game decides what event to make active, it goes through them all BACKWARDS and checks their conditions, until it finds one whose conditions are met (which includes pages that have no conditions).


So you need to decide when you want that page to show, and give it conditions.

i deleted the 4th event page but now when i gave him what i found in the chest ,

i want him to give the weapon once but whenever i press enter to that guy i gave him the weapon again again!?
i want him to say "thank you bro"

Shaz didn't ask you to delete that page, he asked you to set the correct conditions in it.


and from the errors you now report, the conditions in the other event pages are probably still wrong.


If you want to get something from a chest, that usually is on the first page, with a switch to change to the next page - and the next page displaying the result of the empty chest, conditioned to the switch from the first page. Those two pages are usually all you need for a simple chest.


Unfortunately the text in your pictures is too small - can you pleas cut away the editor frame and make screenshots only from the event pages?

No, the chest is a completely different event. It's got nothing at all to do with this event working or not.
