Okay why would my map-level enemies NOT be causing ANY damage.. yet an NPC calls for battle-processing and it WORKS.. they cause damage?

I have restarted the game..  restarted STEAM.. gone back in.. and all MAP level enemies cause 0 damage..  and again my npc that calls the

battle processor has NO problem with those battles they work fine..  is frustrating and a DEAL BREAKER.. I have to stop until I find out what to do!

can't have a game where nothing causes damage

1. What is a "map level enemy"?

If you mean random encounters on the map, check that it's using the same troop as your NPC.  If it's not, change your NPC to call the same troop, and then change them both to call the troop that the NPC was calling.  See if they both work, or both don't work.

I'm guessing they're not calling the same troop, and that you've either removed an important trait from one or more of your enemies (the "map level" enemies), or just don't have their stats high enough to compensate for your actors, classes and equipment.

By Map enemies, do you mean the enemies that are triggered by random battles when walking on the map?
Perhaps you're using a plugin that interferes with this somehow?
I'd recommend starting a fresh project and see if you can replicate the error. If you cant, something is wrong with either your battlers, plugins, or the way you're calling these battles.

Okay.. so my first 6 enemies were doing this ..   so I erased the troops and the enemies 1-6...  copied 7 to 1-6 and then replaced names and images

as needed.

Went back in and its working so far...   all enemies now causing damage again.. so now i just have to work my way back down 6-1 and adjust the strengths of these

enemies accordingly and they should still be able to cause damage.

I assume some trait was not working... but not enough time to figure that out so I copied what DID work over to my first few... thank God I just STARTED this!

So it was working, and then it wasn't again...  but then I did something..  I just copied my game folder and renamed it to gamename - testing,

then I took an EMPTY project and went into the data folder and copied the enemies.json and troops.json files and then reopened my 2nd game folder

and I realized that even the default enemies when you're at level 1 - DONT INFLICT DAMAGE..  and I wasn't paying enough attention then during testing

battles cause I was focusing on other aspects of the game design...    so I'm thinking that I just have to get to higher level monsters for them to start causing

damage and that the game software itself is actually fine...   So now I'm gonna play through and see if they start getting harder

Okay I figured out what it was... my intial items I start with was ridiculously high and I forgot I did that just to playtest in the first stages and get through

bad areas before I had found out about Ctrl+Z.. LOL    So all is well now!   I nerfed my beginning stats back to almost nothing and everything is working

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving!
