If you've played Mother 3 and you fought the Porky Bots, then you probably know what I am talking about.

Basically, there would be 3 enemies. When you kill one, another specific enemy will join the fight. (Or if you kill the first 3 enemies, the next 3 will join.) How can you do this?

In Troops in the data base, add your enemy to the troop; right click and choose 'Appear half way'

Not having played Mother 3 I have no idea if this matches up with what you have in mind, but that's how to get an enemy to appear part way through.

Okay, I understand doing that, but what if I wanted to make a battle where you'd have to fight 44 enemies without stopping?

As far as I am aware, the limit on enemies in any one troop is 8, so 44 in one is out.

However, if it is an evented encounter, then simply add another troop via battle processing straight after your first, then a third and so on until you are up to the number you want.  Though 44 without any pause for healing up seems a rather daunting number to throw at the player.

Tsukihime made a script for adding enemies beyond 8 - but it's impossible to do without scripts as 8 is the default's and editor limit.

It's supposed to be a very difficult battle in the final area of the game.

Actually, doing chain battle processing could add to the drama.

Having your PCs back to back, monsters keep coming, every time the battle

ends, the player wondering "did I finally kill them all?"

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
