Hey everyone! I have no idea if this is possible, and if so, how it would be accomplished, which is why I am asking here, lol!
I would like to have an area of my game in which the player encounters both friendly and non-friendly enemies in random encounters. Not like the FFIX mechanic of having a single friendly enemy appear from time to time, but one where both friendly and non-friendly enemies would appear in the same battle. The friendly enemy would aid the party in some way, either by drawing attacks toward itself, healing the party, or attacking the other enemies directly. The friendly enemies could be attacked if you chose, which would make them either disappear, or turn hostile, but the battle could be won by only defeating the non-friendly enemies.
Does that make sense?
I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas about how this could be accomplished!
