Hi.
I can't do anything with ruby, so i'll ask you, maybe there's a way to do this also with events.
I want to add an ability in battle named "INFO" that used on a specific enemies displays a text.
I think the better way to do this is displaying the notes in databese.
I mean, i write in the note tab the enemy's info and clicking INFO this text displays.
Oh and I'm on RPG maker VX ACE.

That will require scripts, as that is the only way to read the notes tab. So you'll need to learn how to do things with scripting for that sadly.

You might be able to do this with a common event that you call when info is used, and then based on the enemy ID it displays the text you program, but you'd need a conditional branch for every enemy in your game. That's the only non-script way I can see to do this.

Maybe a bestiary script could help? This script let's you press "shift" to get some enemy information...tough I don't think it displays text...but you ca view information about it in the bestiary page...

Thanks to everyone, but I tried an easiest method. When you use INFO ability it calls a common event that puts on info switch. than in Troop events, when switch info is on, it disable it and displays the text.
