I have seen someone make a no-script step by step process of how to make a scan ability. However, that can only show hp and mp of the enemy you scan. What I want is a script that will allow me to scan one enemy and then show a message box or something saying what its max hp and mp is, what abilities it has, and what it is weak/resistant to. Sorry if I'm asking for something strange, I just got RPG Maker VX Ace not even 48 hours ago.

Pretty sure loads of folk have asked for such a system in the past.  I assume one of the many scripters out there would have written such a system - have you searched / googled for some kinda similar script?.

I have searched for it, I guess I'll just search more.

How do you want this to appear visually?

I guess like it does in earthbound if you've ever played it. A textbox tells you what their max HP and MP is, their skills, and their weaknesses and resists.

Without scripts, you're limited to the data you can get with the control variable command - and that are the parameters only (including maxHP and HP, but not the skills and features etc.)

As for the scripting option:

If you're using Yanfly's Battle engine, you can use his script https://yanflychannel.wordpress.com/rmvxa/battle-scripts/ace-battle-engine/enemy-target-info/

That probably isn't compatible with other battle scripts, but you can test that yourself...

Is there any way to make battles 2D instead of polygon based?

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Battles are already 2D in VX Ace.

Nothing in any battle system used by the RM-Engine is polygon-based - yanfly's battle system is already 2D like every other battlescript for RM.

Oh. Okay, sorry, it looked polygon based from the screenshots of it.

Polygon based is 3D. RPG Maker uses 2D images :)

An example of a polygon based game is Final Fantasy 7.

Yeah, I know what polygon based games are, it just looked more polygon than 2-D, but now that I look at it close I can see it's just 2-D.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
