Hey so I was just wondering about some things. I know that in Final Fantasy X, some enemies start out with certain "states" (I think.) I know some enemies can start out with the "tough" state (and maybe other states) where they take very low damage except when they get hit by piercing, and in FFX armor break can get rid of it. How can I make it?

Let me tell you my idea on how I can make it. Here it is:

1) Create a state that is resistant to every type of attack except piercing.
2) Have a certain attack remove that state.
3) Add enemy state from the Troop bar using "Change Enemy State".

Will these work though? Maybe I should test them out myself, but I think that they will work.

Can't you just give them passive states? <Passive State: x>

Frostorm's suggestion would require Yanfly's Buffs & States Core plugin, just to clarify.

"How do I?" questions belong in the Support forums, so I'm moving it there.

@ssunlimited If you're not using a plugin, then adding your state to the enemies on turn 0 in the troop event page would work. If you want the skill to get of rid of the state 100% of the time, then adding b.stateRemove(stateId); in front of the skills damage formula will work to remove it on a successful hit.

Isn't it simpler to add a Remove State effect to the skill?

Just a heads-up that Slip into Ruby and Jump into Javascript might be a bit slow for now while I'm on the team porting the YEP plugins to VisuStella's MZ suite.
So I managed to build a teleport skill. You can see the progression in the development topic

But the real question is, can I pull off FF8?

I love these little slime battlers. Really wish I could find more animated ones :'(
The curse of retail: you get ideas, you want to make something with those ideas, but because you're always at friggin' work you can't actually do anything with them.
