Enemy Troops Name Bug?

Hey everybody.

 

So as I do a Battle Test in VX Ace with more than one enemy, both enemies are indicated as "Slime BOX" & "Slime BOX".
Yes, there is a box as the indicator.

How can I set it up to where it is "Slime 1" & "Slime 2"?

The box basically means that the font you're using has no graphic for the symbol that is supposed to be displayed there.

The reason for this can only be one of two possibilities:

1)

you changed the function that adds A, B, etc to the enemy name when there are several enemies of the same type, and the new symbol you selected in the function is not supported by the default font. (This is very likely if you tried to change "Slime A" into "Slime 1" - numbers are not the same as the letters for numbers, you need a conversion for that)

2)

you changed the default font to a font that does not contain the large letters "A", "B", etc (very unlikely unless done accidentally)

You should also test if the same happens in a new project - if it does happen in a new project, it could also be that the font-file on your computer had been damaged or replaced.

If it doesn't happen in a new project, you need to find the reason what happened in your current project to change that (could be done by scripting changes only)

It displays fine to me.
As an addition to Andar's suggestion (change the font).
 
Go to Game_System line 38. Change it to this:

  def japanese?    #$data_system.japanese    return false  endGet this one as well, Linebreak Glyph Fix
