I am using Hime Equip Slots Core and am giving equipment two types (armor, weapon)

Is there a way to add stats/skills depending on where it is equipped? Like, to increase Att if it’s a weapon or def if used as armor?

Hi @DrSyintist !

Consider going to Database/Troops then creating a Battle Event where you use Event Command / Conditional Branch.../Weapon OR Armor to check if you have the thing equipped as Weapon or Armor and based on that you can use the Event Command / Actor / Change Parameter.

The VisuStella Items & Equip Core has a JS Parameters notetag that allows you to use code to determine the parameter bonuses.

The problem with oreh's idea is:
- It wouldn't be visible when you actually equip the item, it only goes into effect in battle
- It wouldn't be visible when you unequip the item, " "
- You'd have to have some additional way to track what was equipped so that your event knows "I have to undo the bonus from the sword you were wearing last time, in addition to doing the bonuses for your current equipment"
- You'd have to have a potentially very complex event as it looks for every item like this in your game on each actor in your party in every slot it could go in

I would personally consider the first two points dealbreakers, as it kind of ruins the UI for the player to not see what happens when they manipulate equipment in the menu.

Yeah I’ve pretty much scrapped that idea and just implemented a different system. Thanks for the replies anyway!

Ever notice that villains can reform and become better people, but heroes can only ever die... or live long enough to see themselves become villains?

Isn't that interesting?
