  • Custom textures, made by myself.
  • A decent storyline which actually has logic.
  • Animated objects, such as animated water and animated lava.

I applaud you for using basically what you start with.

My biggest issue with what you have here is your mapping. I'm not a fantastic mapper by any means, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But things like how your stairs look like they are running across the floor and your sewer map looks super flat (no walls or ceilings). I would suggest you check out one of the mapping tutorials you can find on this site.

Thanks for the tips, I am going to make use of those for sure. I agree with them looking flat, but I will improve those.EDIT: I am searching for some packs though which add some objects to bring depth in your map, I can't really find one and now I'm creating a tutorial map to learn some tricks with depth. I'm not adding the textures I had as those didn't have depth really either, and I have to find out how to change my tilesets.

Couldn't take an ingame picture, this is the tutorial map but I am planning to use it in the game too, it looks pretty good so why not. It's a bit bigger than the other ones (13x17), this one is 25x25. This one has more depth already but I am searching for some packs (without licenses or stuff) which I can use in the project.

2 Nice screenshots of some developing progresses, found my way around a bit and I started to work with depth. I decided to cancel the official story but keep the same characters, although the queen is gone and I added a few new ones. Will update the main thread and then I'll continue working on the forest.

Finished "Cliffwater Forest"

Route 001 (Cliffwater Forest) - Work In Progress

The forest will have a lot of improvements, like the trees. Your objective is to find a small camp and get a package from there for "Mr. Water" and deliver it, you progress through the "Ace Region"

So a lot of things changed, I am going to modify the main thread as it won't fit all in a reply, demo is up too!

Thanks McTone, thanks to you I realized that my maps were horrible and I tried to improve myself, here's my result!

Sneak previews:

An expansion to "Fishermans Route"

"Route 044" Tourist Center

Route 044 - Can't see it that well as the size is 75x75 - The biggest map so far

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
