Error 417 -RPG Maker VX ACE (Lite)

Hi. I recently stumbled across a YouTube trailer for a game called To The Moon, which was made by RPG Maker, and which made me realise just how cool this engine can be. So I've decided to download it.

Today I downloaded RPG Maker VX Ace Lite.

However, I can not activate it. Every time I try to activate it, I get the Error Message 417 (that it can not connect to the server).

I've searched these forums and other people have had similar problems in the past. Many solutions have been offered. I've tried all of these solutions.

I've used proxies. Still doesn't work.

I've disabled my firewall. Still doesn't work.

So, how can I get it to work?

I have a Windows 8 Acer computer.

I'm living in student accomodation so the internet I use is a common internet for all the accomodation. It's called Eduroam.

Any advice?

PS: also try running in admin mode, might make a difference

I tried running it in admin mode, but it still doesn't work.

Maybe you're right and it's a problem with the internet. I'll be going home today so I'll try using that internet to see what happens :/ I'd love to get this work as it seems like one of the best game engines out there, and certainly the best 2D one
