I was trying to make my game for android but it said


Error failed to load audio/bgm/theme2.m4a. And i do have both ogg and m4a for theme 2 so i dont know hwats wrong.

the game doesn't look for the file theme2.m4a, it looks for the file Theme2.m4a


These are two different files, and only Windows has an override to load the other if the correct file doesn't exist.


For deployment to android, you need to make sure that all files are following networking rules, which means no special signs or spaces in the filenames (not even in the path to your directory) and you need to pay attention to capitalization as that makes filenames different under networking rules,


There are a few other possibilities (if that theme is only used by a plugin, it might have been removed by the "remove unused files" option of deployment if the plugin user didn't register it as neccessary), but in most cases it's a problem with the filename.

Hey guys, I went through the same error (my game was crashing saying it "Failed to load" my .m4a file) even though the file was actually in the folder.
I managed to solve it by converting the original .mp3 file from a different site. At first I used this site to convert my mp3 to m4a.
But the resulting m4a was failing to play on the Android device, so I went to this other one, there I managed to generate a compatible m4a that played successfully on my Android device. The following m4a settings worked for me:
  • Bitrate: 160 kbps (constant);
  • Sample rate: 44100 KHz;
  • Channels: 2.

Good morning from Indonesia..
I was trying to develop my project in Android but it keep saying that my project can not load some m4a files while my RPG maker make it the audio files in ogg.
Is it works ? Should I change it one by one??
I've been trying to solve it by update my RPG maker MV but my audio files become lost.

@Nila please start a new topic for a new problem
and you need both ogg AND m4a exactly because different devices use different formats.
