Error upon play test.

Sent this request to tech support in regards to an error message every time I try to run Play Test. They re-directed me to the forums instead so the issue is listed in this quote from the request below:

When I attempt to run a demo play of a programmed event I get the following error message: ERROR UNCAUGHT SYNTAX ERROR: UNEXPECTED END OF INPUT. Am new to this and not sure if this message is in regards to a certain plug-in or the programmed event, however I have tried corrective actions with both without successfully removing the error.

Currently planning on removing all the plug-ins and re initializing them one by one to see if that solves the issue. Has anybody else had similar problems, or the same error message? Anybody know solutions that can reduce troubleshooting time?

"Syntax error" means that there is something written wrong in the code. This cannot be in pure eventing, because you don't write code when clicking on the event command.


It can only be in one of the following three cases:


1) something you wrote in the event command "script"


2) something you wrote in a script line, either in control variables or in conditional branch


3) something in a plugin - most often because you made an error when downloading, because no plugin will ever work with a syntax error (resulting in those usually being fixed by the time the plugin is published).


However, we cannot give better help unless you give the full error message - the quote above does not contain any reference to which part of the code contains the error - that can be read in the console output when the error happens.

Thank you though Andar, I will look into it based off of your above suggestions, and as long as I can identify the issue will post it accordingly to the correct forum. Appreciate the quick response!

Andar meant the complete error log from the console which you can open by pressing F8 while you're running your project.

There's more information written than the error message on the screen

The error message will probably specify the index.html, since the error basically means one of your plugins (or, more likely, a loaded JSON file) is missing something like a bracket at the end.
