Error with Yanfly's New Game+.

Hello,


I am using Yanfly's New Game + plugin (http://yanfly.moe/2016/05/27/yep-104-new-game-rpg-maker-mv/) and I am running into an issue.


I want the player to be able to start the game, but NOT HAVE their party members anymore. However, when they recruit their party members, I would like them to have the same level/items, etc. that they left off with.


However, when I attempt to load a New Game +, I receive the error: Uncaught TyperError: Cannot read property '_exp' of null


Would it be easier to have the New Game+ initiator also activate a Switch which would carry over to the NG+ and use stored variables of the character's EXP to make them the same level they left off at? Or is there something I'm missing with the yanfly plugin?

You're saying that you want to start off with no items and extra party members, but later ingame (when you recruit the members), you also get all your items back from before the newgame+? o:


Or do you mean that you want the heroes to have their old equipment back?~


As for the experience problem.. Seems weird, in Yanflys tutorial they also keep their old level and he doesn't get an error upon doing a new game+...


I'll try it out too~ to see if I can maybe help you. :3


(I imagine it to be easy to recruit them and still have their old level, just by making sure you don't have Initialize activated when adding a new hero.. x: The equipment should normally stay the same too.)


Edit: I don't get the error, but you're right.. New recruited heroes don't keep the equipment they had on from the last save.. x:


I also tried doing a new game+ after receiving an amount of experience, but they keep their level.. I don't get the error like you did.. x;

Well, I've realized the items just go into your inventory. So, you can just hold onto it and swap it out upon recruiting the party member, so that's fine.


But as far as the levels go. The only way I got it to work was by having the game start with all party members and having an autorun event that immediately removes them from the party. I had no problems with the main character, presumably because they're always in the party. And I guess Yanfly's video didn't show the error because it was his starting party. But i think removing the party members when starting a new game, the game has no place to pull the exp from, so you get an error. That's just my opinion.


But as I said, I found a workaround by having the game start with the entire party and then removing them instantly. Since my New Game+ is only at the very end of the game, this is a fine solution for me. I'm just wondering if there is a better one.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I've been having another error with the same plugin. When I start the New Game +, and get into a battle, my character loses levels. After one random encounter, they went from level 47 to 28.


I literally have no idea why and I can't seem to figure out any way to make it work. I will update this post with whatever is needed. The only plugins I'm using are created by Yanfly.


I made no edits to the initial plugin parameters.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
