Hi. My name is Eugene, and a few months ago I began messing around with RPG Maker VX Ace Lite. I eventually put together a 3-5 hour long RPG called Acelite.
(Yes, I named it after the software I used to make it. I am bad at naming things.)
Acelite is a basic fantasy themed RPG. You go through dungeons, fight bosses, gain experience, etc. There are 10 different party members, each of which have unique abilities and stats. There are 9 dungeons and 12 bosses. The idea behind the game was that a dark mage named Eric and a heroic knight named Ernest team up to stop a powerful dark lord from destroying the world. Along the way they pick up some of Eric's dark mage friends, a naive princess, several monster minions, and the sociopathic daughter of the main antagonist. If this sounds a little bit cliche and boring, that's because it is. Acelite...is far from the best game on these forums. It uses built in assets, it's short, and it's writing could use some work, but it's my first game. I'd like to get better and make amazing games. If you could take a few hours out of your day and give me some feedback on how to be better, it would mean the world to me.
Dungeon List
Acelite Castle: A short and basic dungeon that serves as the tutorial level. This dungeon is a collapsing castle that the main characters escape from at the start of the game. Boss: The Ogre.
The Mines: A maze like abandoned mine. Boss: Earth Guardian Minos.
The Frozen Crypt: An ice themed dungeon that has three paths of varying difficulty. Boss: Ice Guardian Khione.
The Southern Tower: A short dungeon containing two bosses. Bosses: The Imp Hoard, Wind Guardian Blackwing
Port Veux: An abandoned village that was destroyed prior to the events of the game. No boss.
Donut Island: A small island that contains the longest battle in the game. Boss: Water Guardian Medusa.
Mount Inferno: An active volcano that hurts people who stay inside it for to long. Boss: Fire Guardian Chimera.
The Tomb of Ancients: An ancient tomb filled with skeletons. The longest dungeon in the game. Boss: Spoilers
The Castle: The final dungeon. There are three, bosses. All of them are spoilery.
PARTY MEMBERS
Ernest-Class: Paladin-The main character of the story. A brave knight that protects his kingdom from the forces of evil. Wields swords. Ernest is a glass cannon who also has the ability to heal.
Eric-Class: General-A friendly and bumbling dark mage who used to work for the games main villain. Wields axes. Eric is a tank who has the ability to use magic that reduces his max health in return for doing a lot of damage.
Noah-Class: Orc-Eric’s stupid but friendly minion. Wields clubs. Noah has a very high attack stat and serves as a good damage dealer.
Tera-Class: Royal-A naive princess who tags along with Ernest and Eric. Wields jewels. Tera has the ability to use both healing and ice magic and is good in any situation.
Nate-Class: Spellblade-An old mage who is a friend of Eric and an enemy of Ernest. Wields swords and blades. Nate’s sword magic attacks hit enemy weaknesses and use both attack and magic stats.
Brenda-Class: Witch-Nate’s snarky daughter. Wields tomes. Brenda learns a variety of magic spells and is a great magical damage dealer.
Ryoma-Class: Assassin-Nate’s quiet son. Wields blades. Ryoma is very fast and deals a lot of dame, but has very low defensive stats.
A’Lice-Class: Priestess-The main antagonist’s sociopathic daughter. Wields staves. A’Lice is a poor damage dealer, but has mazing healing and buffing abilities.
Iz-Class: Imp-An annoying imp who follows A’Lice around. Wields spears. Iz has the ability to inflict a variety of status ailments.
Rick-Class: Fire Djinn-A monster who works for A’Lice. Wields charms. Rick has balanced stats and the ability to dodge enemy attacks.
